- i5oogt -
oh hey... I still has this POS. started fixing little odds and ends on it as its going for a pre wof wof check to see what rust repairs are required. then its going to a master fabricator to have some rust replaced with metal. The plan is to have it legal for hanmer. discuss how im going to fail here: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/25894-i5oogts-mk2-cortina-wagon/?hl=i5oogt
- i5oogt -
Useless Update... but multiple updates to a project thread are a good thing right? Tomorrow @ 8.30AM is WOF time. I put some alloy tape over the rust holes to keep the water out and gave it a wash. replaced a few bits and pieces like the bonnet release cable and the window channels in the front doors as they had snapped off at the bottom. got all the lights etc working, I have a replacement rear tail light lense turning up tonight. Acquired a Datsun 1200 choke cable off Bart and installed it (can't find a good spare cortina one) gave the interior a bit of a clean, Things left to do after work remove the broken front bumper ends, clean the windows. find a couple more wheel nuts and fit a bonnet catch I took it for a sneaky drive last night. I'm amping to have this car legal again
- i5oogt -
it failed on rust as expected, not a bad fail sheet considering its been off the road since 2006.
Valiant
I've inherited this for now so I can fix bits of rust and etc when there is time. Here's some photos of rust holes and patches. At lest the floor is done. All that's left to do is now is everything.

Valiant
last update by me, I finished my part of this off tonight. Added some Escort wagon rear shocks and some reworked Escort mounts/base plates. I'm fairly happy with the way it turned out. i500gt dropped off some lowered leaf springs which I fitted at the same time. Front is all up In the air, Karl can sort that out later.
- i5oogt -
So... I got this back of pete months ago, stupidly I managed to break the windscreen bringing it home, there was a couple of nasty rust bubbles showing under the rubber que windscreen out and rust holes needing attention

- i5oogt -
Picture-less update. Had a mess around with the rear suspension tonight. Its not so slammed anymore. Has around 25-30mm between the bump stops compared to the 5mm it had before. So it should be able to get a WOF now. I'm thinking I might book it in for a WOF on Friday then spend the next couple of nights working through the odds and ends that need doing

- i5oogt -
So, this pile of British engineering wouldn't start the other day, Turns out 8 years in storage does a car no favors, pulled the dizzy out and swapped it for one with a pertronics electric kit in it and it runs again now, next up is clean out the carb, get the choke going, replace the radiator and install some front slam. I have to have it ready for nats as my backup car is being driven up by Bart/Greg/Corbie etc (this also needs some work) fun times.
