davidian
Oh I see what ya mean now by digis. They dont run a booster from standard. If I could fit one I would. What you want a pic of? If ya thinking of running no booster and going remote I can get ya pics of that. The escort I am picking up thsi weekend is remote booster. yea bro, thatd be me hard
davidian
wouldnt mind seeing a pic how the remote works, just need to see what the brake shaft does etc also the 2 bolts that hold the master cyl line up with booster holes on the firewall so in theory can use no booster, just straight off
Gaz
It may be easy to put a remote brake servo system in ya car but you wont get feck all change from $1000 Ill take as many pics as I can.
davidian
cheers boss yeah not looking to spend that sorta cash at all ay. worse comes to worse ill try and use a sierra booster or ditch one of the esky brake shafts and shorten the other one and put it against the f/wall but what im concerned with is if i shorten the brake lines and in the same go the braking fluid volume in the system will it fuck with the braking of the car or throw it out of ballance
Gaz
You need room for what? Twin 40s on the 1600 would be my guess or for when ya do ya turbo shiz? I am in the process of sorting the brakes out on my escort. I will be using no booster at all to start and they will be mint brakes. If you have 15inch wheels on the car then you could run the same setup as I am going to. I am going to start selling the setups once I have it on my car and I have it certed. You need. AP callipers, at least 15 inch wheels and thats bout it. Hopefully well before 6 months is up I will have the brake setups sorted and replicas of them for sale.. davidian
yuh man.. the 40s my manifold slants up on a nice angle so i thought it would clear, but the dude with the 40s said hes got the same manifold and it hits the booster getting new wheel studs next week for the 15s so yeah ill have 15s on plus cortina disks (if they are larger, or not who cares, my esky disks are not in the best shape) and callipers
Gaz
For 40s in escort a little tip is: Jump on the booster and it will make it clear. But if you still want better brakes I can sort ya out. mk1 mk2 cortina discs arnt bigger plus all cortina disks are diff offset so youll have troubles. davidian
ok then ill jump on it and see what happens murder you if it dont i got mk3 brakes i believe so different offset would actually be nice cause my 15s are dangerously close to the strut in the front as it is but apparently been on a sierra for years no worries
Gaz
Yeah bro jump on it. Offset could be the other way however
davidian
fuck i need to find me a link with offsets and bullisht
Gaz
Yeah post it up if you find it. I can tell you mk1 escorts had two differant offsets. Early and late. The later stayed with the later mk1s and continued onto the mk2 escorts. The early one set the wheel more towards the strut the later towards the gaurd. They changed from the early to the later to get slightly more track on the car

davidian
ahh bugger certing the shit ive got a mk2 sport booster which im gonna rebuild and put in. gonna try your stomp method and maybe grind off a bit of the metal box surround around the shaft to get the room i need. ill take my mani/carb off this weekend if it doesnt rain and see what the clearances are like
Gaz
Oh yeah before you stomp check that it is close enough to just stomp. There are differant 40s manifolds and some might sit differant. I know with most or at least some you can just stomp em.
