Do a search for Pinto into Escort or something along those lines, you'll find the answer either on here or on google, several member's on here have done the 2L Pinto OHC into MkII though, so there should be plenty of help for you, that being said, it's pretty straight forward.

i did a seach on here for this conversion, and on google,

I have a ford sierra

i guess the things i want to know is.

1. Will the sump clear ok

2. will the gear box hit the tunnel, my esky is a manual.

3. does the gear shifty line up properly

4. what radiator do i use

5. what engine mounts or do the factory 2liter ones fit

6. do the heater pipes comming out of the firewall get in the way

umm.. havent done it but ill give it a shot.. plenty of people will set me straight

sump wont clear.. pretty sure on this.. need rs2000 styles but theres plenty of homejobbies here.. im sure you cna handle it.. plenty of people here can tell ya what they did with the sump..

i had a corty box in my sport.. mated to a kent! no problems.. shouldnt have a trouble.. unless youve got a 5spd.. which may be very possible since you have a sierra.. then may have problems, but if its a type 9 box (wouldnt think itd be a mt75 or t5) ya should be able to fit it.. again, no expert

not sure on 4spd gear posi.. my corty box lined up.. sierra 5spds dont though.. comes out a few inches further back

radiatoir.. few options i guess.. im using a mk2 corty radiator with my zetec..

5 and 6 someone else can take over

yeah woulda thought so.. for some reason i thought youd be using the cortina.. type E gearbox? i think thats the name.. that might tbe the kents gearbox.. cant remember.. but yeah.. 5spd may have troubles getting in the tunnel.. but i think as long as its a type9 and not one of the bigger ones.. ya may be able to get it in the manual tunnel

1. No will need to be modified

2. Yes gearbox tunnel will have to be made bigger not much tho

3. No u will need to do some cutting but not much :)

4. u can use any radiator im using 1600 atm

5. U will need the 2ltr cortina ones as the sierra is different but u can use the factory mounts, what what i got with little metal spacers.

I was just looking at the sierra mounts today, there definatly not going to do the trick, off to pick-a-part to get a pair of cortina ones.

When the sump gets modified does the oil pick up need to be moved ?

Once i start on it i want to do thw whole conversion in 3 days MAX.

Some MK2's came out with 2L's from factory in Australia, if you have any mates over there you could get them to send over a sump. Otherwise you have to cut and shut it.

The type9 5 spd will fit but you might need to massage the tunnel just a little around the bellhousing with a hammer to stop vibrations.

If your working all day then youll do it in one day. Hardest part is sump. Gbox needs a strip from the original hole cut back about an inch or two and then will fit. Radiator holder part needs bending forward and new radiator mounted. im using mk4 cortina from memory.

Sump:

Selector hole in trans tunnel:

cut the red part an swap it round as shown is the easiest method.

Yeap massage tunnel bigger.

Radiator, escort one can do, just needs to be moved forwards, but bigger would be better.

Can use escort or cortina mounts.

Not sure on heater hoses but I cant imagine they would be in the way?

Also with the 5speed you will need a different driveshaft. I THINK the short piece of the seirra with the short piece of the escort will work? or is it escort with cortina :? Someone confirm it.

Brake lines will need to be moved a tad in the engine bay and the exhaust rerouted to the other side.

Nothing in there that you cant handle
