You can get manifolds that rise a bti don't flow as well though...

I don't think the GT head makes a diff.. all the mk2 heads are the same with big valves... i think? its the older non 711M engines that have small valves...

To be honest i like the 1600 better.. way lighter just better to drive... and you don't aev to muck around putting the 2L in... no cert needed either.

i would go for the big 1300 pistons if you ccan afford it woudl go fucking hard i should have done it but couldn't afford cos you need all new bearings and bolts etc.... and my bottom end was in good cond..

Big carbs a nice idea.. sideys won't use that much more if they are tuned right... and apparently when you are running a lumpy cam it will idle way better with sideys.

well hes talking bout a rebuild anyways

ive got 2L valves in mine so i know for a fact they can be made to fit (dont believe everything youre told :) )

Sorry i wasn't told that i just looked:D the ones on mine were so close they were just about touching! who machined the head for you? the valve seats and everything had to be recut aye? is it really worht it?

i got lucky and got a rally-prepped 1600 head from a lpace in east tamaki, some dude couldnt pay it off it had $600 owing and i picked it up. was planed, bronze valve seats, bigish ports blah blah, got some formula ford double valve springs from Marsh motorsport for measly $50 and happy as

yeh not to keen on teh pintos aye i had a couple of them lyin around but sold them . and id rather spend the money on the 1600 instead of the 300 odd for the cert plus fittin it all. i will b puttin a 4agze supercharger on it but jus want to get it runnin a bit quicker to giv some fun over new years . one of my other cars is a fxgt i picked up for $150 . i was considerin takin teh motor out of that and chuckin it in esky but my mate has offered me 1700 for it so ....

my mechanic is also doin the labour for free as he had promised me his panel van with over 4k spent on the pinto in it since i was lik 12 but he had to sell it so he sed hed do this 1 for free.

also, on a sidenote to the 1300 pistons

its not that simple, ya want 1300hc pistons.. high comp! or GT pistons!! even more comp!!! 1300lc pistons will raise it very slightly but if your gooing through this much trouble might as well do it right..

1600 = 9.2:1

1600 with 1300lc pistons = 9.5:1

1600 with 1300hc pistons = 10.3:1

1600 with 1300GT pistons = 11.0:1

or go overboard and get 1100 pistons

1600 with 1100lc pistons = 11.3:1

1600 with 1100hc pistons = 11.8:1

spannerfodder for info so not my fault if its wrong :P

i duno how accurate spanner fodders compression info is... i calculated mine and it reckoned id only have 10:2 in my 1300 but when i worked it out i had more but yeah who knows.

Step 1: Strap Kent block to dolly/barrow for ease of transportation

Step 2: Take to large building

Step 3: Take elevator to top floor

Step 4: Throw the heavy fucker off.

I bet it'll get down pretty fucken quick. It's by far the cheapest method.
