Must hve been u asking on trademe jase aka slidenyo was gana use my sdan lights h

e did

d say they are diffrrnt but he endd up selling his coupe more than welcome to check em out

If you were going to change the rear lights to anything I would suggest Chevette tails. They'd need the whole rear panel but it would look way better/older. Like a Kadett.

Eww :(

You, my friend, are extremely incorrect. :)

This issue is fuckin' wit me. I can't decided whether I should do it or not! The Isuzu lights are pretty plush and unique, and mine are in good nick!

I think your current rear lamps are choice as fuck, those Opel ones are simplistic and remind me of boring 70's British tail-lights. "Oh hey, we designed this sweet car, now go and grab one of those rectangle combo lamps from the parts bin" .. Boo. boring.

oh theres no doubt that the Isuzu tail lights themselves are cooler, its just the vulgar plastic surround the goes around them and in between that looks crap, in my opinion. I really like the simplistic look of the Vauxhall/Opel rear and it seems to tidy things up having the number plate up there and the less cluttered rear.

haha, possibly. It would look good doing the whole thing black with the black bolt ons and possibly even black bumpers.

The other side to this argument involves a lot of thought. It was whether to embrace the Isuzu side of the coupe and put it on Japanese style wheels, repaint it bright yellow along the same lines as the existing colour and run with that, which is an awesome concept and will make for a unique cal globally.

or, go for the Opel look, with a simplistic approach, changing some of the Isuzu aspects of the car to Opel items, the front grill and the rear lights for example, along with painting the car a more lemony shade of yellow. This would make for a truly unique car in NZ, because there just isn't another Opel Kadett C in this country, or Australia for that matter (where Coupes are alot more common).

I need to see how it will look with the chevette bumper in place there. Also, black chevette bumper with black light surround?

I also have some sedan rear lights that I could maybe mod in there.

The cool thing about the T-car platform is that it is Japanese AND European. If I use the current TD Grille/lights/surrounds, a Chevette bumper, Isuzu rear lights, bolt on flares (which are more Jap than Euro) and Japn wheels... then I guess it's more Jap than Euro. The ones in Aussie are typically "Holden" Gemini style, so I would have something unique. No one there really does the Jap look, nor the Euro look. And in Japan all the Gemini coupes still running around are ZZ/R editions which have the 80s front and rear ends. Even the starting point is something unique.

The paint i want to use will definitely be yellow. I prefer brights to the lemony type the Kadetts have. I have been toying with the Ford Canary Yellow (I've seen a mk1 esky in this and it's beautiful), Fiat Stilo Yellow, Holden Monaro Yellow (years ago, now I think it's a bit 'dark'), any other ideas :P The same yellow?

Anyway, this is waaaaaaaaaaay off track. It's not even my thread! Do I have a discussion thread, I should probably more some of this in there...

I think you need to play around with the colours of the light surrounds rather than change them all together. Take Kyteler's picture but maybe keep the chrome part of the light surround (if yours are chrome? I've had sets with both chrome and just plain)

Sort of like a pinstripe look. As I say it might take a few different ideas and a bit of time with spray cans and masking tape but could turn out better than you expect. I'm going to try this when I re paint my silver sedan as the back end just looks shit how it is IMO.

I've decided to keep my coupe 100% Isuzu after a lot of thought

Bang on Kadett guards/grille/lights/petrol flap too, can we then strike an agreement?

Oh and an Opel twincam between the boobs. :D

Yeah definitely, as mentioned above it needs to be the whole hogg or nothing, but sounds like keeping the Japanese theme with the whole lot and staying with Isuzu/Gemini everything sounds like the go, since going with the bolt ons etc. The golf spook adds a touch of euro but then thats a Japanese style too.

Saab 2.3L turbos are the new Opel twincam.

woohoo go 300hp out of a mildy modified $400 engine (check trademe if you don't believe) :D

Doesn't look all that good for rwd mounts though...

Actually, they are all chrome. If you take some carb or brake cleaner to the non chrome ones it's chrome underneath! I've kind of done half of mine. It's a pain in the ass and I'm not really sure if I want it to be chrome or not anyway. Might break it a bit though.

I would keep it 100% Isuzu, but I really like Kadetts too, I would love a set f Kadett petrol flaps if possible, but these will do for now.

Also, what do you guys think about the pinstripe on the side? As the flares will be black, I've been toying with the idea of having the pinstripe re-done after I get it painted (when ever that will be!)...
