zep
I know what you mean, I just think it will look pants with any body work (read: the apron) hanging below it. Not that you'd be able to see it below, but I just don't think it would flow that well at the sides.
Vintage Grumble
Looks pretty damn good, I think car goatee looks good as it is, would look a little odd joining higher up/having body work behind it like you say.
zep
Will look better with the black flares rolling down the same line as the chin spoiler sits on.
avengertiger
nice gemini would like to pick one up here maybe next year,a mate back in eire has a genuine gte here is a pic think she is 2.2 on twin 48s dogleg getrag box etc whats the 1600 isuzu engine like looks like a nice lump being twin cam etc i used to have a standard 1200s coupe at home it was a little minter pics below thought i had a better pic than that will have a look
zep
Well... the Isuzu engine is actually SOHC, some of the higher spec'd Geminis came with twin cams. The standard 1600 goes much better than the 1256 (I think) cousin in the Chevette and comes up to 2.0, althouhg the 2.0 is not as good as the Opel 1.9. Keen to see pics of your coupe, looks nice! avengertiger
gotcha, mine was 1200 or 1197 and it was much better than my brothers 1256 chevette, although still wouldnt set the world on fire but would cruise at 70mph and touch 95mph downhill with the wind behind it. more pics here http://totalopel.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1358
alfalfa
Wheels look good. Put up a photo of the old wheels/tyres side by side so we can get an idea of how much smaller they are going to be. From memory the rears are already tucked about 15mm under the guards?
fuel
looks hawt. I reckon you wont need to go to quite as extreme as 165 or 175 on the front, perhaps a 185 will still fit, or even a 195 with small guard work maybe.
zep
If the 195s are anything like (and they will be) the current ones I have, there is no way they will fit with the rim sitting outside the guard. The tyre is already wider than the rim. Anyway, I want to go extreme! Rears are tucked, but that might be an issue with the shocks pulling the springs down rather than the spring height. Will be able to figure it all out once I get some tyres on there. Now I just need a 165/50 and 175/50 to test the setup! Who's got some! slacker.cam
Those tyres had better not squeal like mofos when doing skids! Because lets be honest, they're going to be useless for anything but sustained loss of traction. Looking forward to seeing them mounted up. Kelvin
I think they look good and should be plenty wide enough for such a small light car. What size are they and how much did they set you back?

Vintage Grumble
Indeed, looks the bewbs. Can someone refresh my memory on the rim width and tire size used please.
zep
They are 165/55r15 and were $390 for the set. Apparantly the only ones left in the country though! Rims are 15x7. I've got a few things to tease out re spring height and the offset (might need a few mms spacers on the front and a about 10mm on the rear) but I'm pretty happy! Thanks for the compliments!
