Ok new plan.

This week am at home on "study" break./

Well since the old engine is out and the new one all built and ready to go in I figured id put it in. So sump is off getting tiged up and then ill drop the new engine in with a standard head and run the fucker in. Ill take it back to Welly and after a 1000k or so Will put the worked head and cam in.

Once its running all smooth will pull the engine out and wack it in the corts and bump the CA into the escort.

Thats the master plan, get ready

Got my escort weighed at the dump today. Dunno how acurate they are but I was a little disapointed.

It weighed in at 890kgs with full interior, 15inch brick wheels, 9inch drums, sport front disks & 2l with 5 speed.

Brought Hilux axles the right length for use in hilux in escort. Now I can cut the housing I have myself and get it welded back up. Relocate mounts and change stud pattern. Gonna make a way cheaper LSD/hilux rear end than starting fdrom scratch.

I dont have a bottom dollar as I dont really want to sell. Plus the car is about to get a ca18det engine which would obviously make it worth more and im sure make me want to sell less.

Also this is the wrong thread to be posting in. There is a project discussion thread which is the one to post in.

Cheers

Buh, never got round to waxing car.

Took worked head off and its now for sale on trademe. Car is way way slower now damn it. Oh well, ca on its way so who cares.

Got a 3 core rad for it and brought three nice guages, boost, oil press and water temp.

A fuel pump, some lines, exhaust, cert and time is all I really need now.

Anyway, more pics that I like.

Not really an update but meh.

Got a ca18det head complete with manifolds, cam gear, cams, valves etc for $40. Was a fucking steal.. Stoked

Also brought an Apexi Twin chamber BOV. wank wank.

Havnt really progressed towards conversion anymore. Sorted some stuff with my hilux diff and thats bout it.

Am going to run FWD offset mags rear and convert to disk. This should allow for me to run my hilux diff unsortened FTW.

Ummmm, yup.

Hrmm,

Brought largish turbo.

GtiR T28 with garret GT25/35 ball bearing internals. Nice sized .68 A/R and good for round 380hp easy. Should be perfect for the ca as itll hit boost early.

Also just brought a 38mm Turbonetics waste you gate.

Have just parted with the only thing I own that ive had longer than my mrs!

In other words, sold the Esky.

After 6-7 years of good and bad ive finally let it go

From a $75 paddock hack found a mates farm out Manawahei, to a semi finished ford thingie all on a sudent budget. I believe I did a good job in most places, often to my empty wallets disgust after 2 tries!

Pity I never got to chuck that damn turbo engine in her like I always planed, just dont have the funds to get it all in and running in the order I wanted to. But thats ok, still have the engine and have another car lined up for it already. Fingers crossed :!:

Pity the car was in its best condition interior wise only in the last 3 months prior to selling. Big cheers to the boys Chris, Bdawg, Duncy and Nick for helping me tidy it up over those weekends to help sell it. I owe ya all a barby when exams are over! Cya all 2moro when ya come to move my firewood to empty the gge for Chris's Mk1 to go into.. (gge paintjob/engine conversion in the making ya hurr)

Cya esky dude, good times for sure, most of em being in the garage where you spent most of ya life, damn fords :!:

Good luck Jamie with the car and start up a project thread so I can see the progress on interior.

Leaving pics
