@cletus I have a brake query, I want to convert my VZ commodore to running VE brembos In aussie they machine the centre of the rotor out a couple of mm to fit the vz hubs and run a 2mm spacer that fits in the stud holes (m12 vz m14 ve) as I understand it now we can't modify rotors anymore. I know a few of these kits have been certed here but unsure what to do now.

Leon at LVVTA has confirmed that the brackets themselves comply in terms of material and thickness. but im unsure what to do about the rotor situation.

That will be fine

The wording in the book was meant to stop someone from slotting or drilling their own discs themselves and causing cracks, weakness etc

The only thing I'd be cautious with is making sure the spacers on the stud holes are attached somehow so they can't escape when someone removes a wheel or works on the brakes

Ie press fit into the disc

The brake chapter of the CCM is due for a new update to be released soon , so the wording may be improved

They are a press fit into the rotor as far as im aware , if they weren't as tight as id like i was just going to use some retaining compound! The re wording definitely clears that up ill get cracking!

I think the main issue is that it goes to junk. I've got it twice before and it happened both times.

Yeah, I explained to them how to fix it, and there weren't enough driveshaft hoops in my solution/green commodore dude moved to the USA

The problem lies with the host that's sending the email, not actually being authorised to send the email.

Thats really piss poor and amateur of them given how many people have a gmail account. Considering the Govt ruled that the Ccm be made freely available to Nzers I wonder how well that would go down if brought to light publicly.

indeed , you can always use 'disposable' email addresses, say   whateveryouwant@spam4.me  - set your name via https://www.spam4.me/

if its private/personal, delete after receiving as

(so long as they set the address to match), the inbox is technically public

(as the name is like the password so chances of others reading ggt76btig845vi5@spam4.me inbox is rare)

How critical is tyre load rating at cert time?

my ute on carjam has a gvm of 1999kg but will never see that weight in its lifetime, definitely not going forward anyway.

the only tyre I can find that is going to work has a load rating of 82v. Which I’ve deciphered at 487kg

most other tyres in the same size are not 74-78v

a stupid balloon tyre or LT won’t work whatsoever

Its critical. I think I was about 50kg out on my b2000 with 215/35r18 and ended up having to raise truck a bit and fit 225/40r18 to get the right tyre load rating.

You'll just have to do what ya gotta go unfortunatly as you can't de-rate.

I just tested it again and it seems they did fix the issue I highlighted.

@cletus What are the legalities/hoops involved in changing wellside to flat deck or just send it?

Are there dimension restrictions for overhang width/tail?

Reason for asking is I'm in the hunt for dbl cab ute which for the most part are wellsides so will put a tray on.

Also wanting to consider a longer tray deck so am looking into if a cab plus tray can work as theyre a bit longer (she said). Would there be more to it than the obvious mounting locations and mudguard positions

its a fair amount of work to do cos nothing bolts up but the main point the deck overhangs the tow bar hitch, so unless you want to make a custom one...  also the rear wheel arch/mudguard flaps are in wrong place, as is the fuel filler mount point and a bunch of shit.  light wiring too short.  mounts are all the wrong height and location.

we ended up just getting the correctly sized double cab flat deck as it turned out to be waaaaaaay more work than the owner wanted.
