tortron
0-100 and stop + repeat brake test so probably
Bling
Yeah basically needs to pass the brake test they use. Would totally depend on the car too, some would barely pass, potentially even fail that test with OG brakes, others will ace it.
cletus
Yeah depends on the car. Most things that have a vented disc on the front at least, can be prepped to pass the 5 stop test ok If it's got drums or solid discs or the brakes are tiny or the car is heavy- probably not
shizzl
It's the hunter, solid discs, no booster = average at best. Id like to upgrade to atleast escort calipers with spacer kit and capri vented discs

datlow
@cletus would this be one of the dodgy ‘murica conversions? (Ie not a seperate chassis?) econovan Camper in nz but uncomplied “Although this is a running vehicle, it is not road legal. I lived in it for a year, at a camp ground. It has all facilities, kitchen, toilet, shower, 3way fridge, tv etc. New awning, gas stove top and oven and a new heavy duty battery. It is a 8 1/2 mtr 1989 Ford Econovan American import, lefthand drive. It has not been registered in NZ, it has only been used as a park up. All questions will be answered honestly.”
Nominal
@datlow Looks big enough to get you into the heavy vehicle category / nightmare 1

cletus
This is probably the same starting point that it was built from, this has a gvm of 4500kg so would be classed heavy vehicle Also this one has a big block petrol engine so can you imagine how many petrols this would use. Aaaalll of them 3

ajg193
Is it true the lvvta is doing away with cert plates?
MACKAZ
@cletus am I going down the right path? Have no exact dimensions and it's massively out of scale but materials listed are what I intended to use.
cletus
Yeah that would be ok, probably a good idea to reduce the number of plug welds in the plate on the chassis

Last training session we had, there was a plan to get rid of plates and replace them with a small plastic disc with a chip in it, that you could scan and it would take you to a website or app or something with photos of the vehicle as certified, and much greater detail on vehicle mods than can be fitted on the plate
igor
So every traffic cop and wof guy would need to be able to scan the disc? Not particularly helpful for potential buyers of a modified car if they can't scan the disc themselves.
tortron
They all have the capability to scan whatever already. Parking tickets just drive by and the cameras scan the plates
