sidewaysickness
Lolz my warrent guy once said I needed a high stop light for the LTD. First I told him it was registered here in 71, And also there's the fact that the brake lights go across the whole fucking ass end, I can clearly see all the faces in the car behind me if I brake at night.

Seedy Al
Yeah, and the complications about the flashing brake lights as indicators on US cars. I read about it in the latest NZ Rodder. Hence the having to pull everything apart to run a wire haha Nothing like that Flashing high stop light.

sidewaysickness
Anyone else remember the forward facing blue roof light when towing rule? Is that why my parents 55 bedford bus has 2 forward facing blue lights fitted. Must be a factory option Haha (FYI they mask them up to get a cof)
chris r
Re batteries in the boot. What are the rules re the cable through the cabin? Does it have to be secured every x distance
Nominal
Usual rule for attaching things is every 300mm. It would help if 'the book' had an index. Or was searchable.

cletus
You can't transfer a standard plate to different vehicles, only personalised ones

JoKer
Twin turbo Subaru Manual conversion that uses all factory parts does it require a cert? (OEM X-member / everything inc driveshaft and slave cylinders etc)
Nominal
Cert not required if the OE gearbox cross-member has not been heated, cut, or welded; and the OE gearbox cross-member mounting to the OE body or chassis members is unchanged; and no replacement gearbox cross-member is used; and the OE drive-shaft(s) remain and is un-modified; and no substantial modifications have occurred to the floor or gearbox tunnel area, other than provision for gear-shift mechanism; and the braking system is not modified or changed, including the brake pedal So, should be OK? Beaver
Yes (technically) I believe Edit : swapping to another gbag crossmember breaks one of these rules above
cletus
That is all correct, the trap is, if you put a manual spec brake pedal, pedal box, or mod the brake pedal, then it needs cert
igor
Seems a little bit silly to require cert if the whole thing uses OE parts that could have left the factory in an identical shell and mount on all factory provided bolt holes. Why is that?
JoKer
the brake peddle is a bit important to be operating properly i reckon, a 'friend' did mention they swapped brake pedal over (smaller pad) so yea I'm askingthe right question i nthe right area t oget a real answer a few others have said they are getting wof's fine in their Swapped New School cars too like this & I googled it & only part i could fault them on was the "brake system modification" ambiguous bit
