  1. Hey guys been browsing this forum for a while now but only just took a picture of my car so I can throw up a project thread. Cars a matt black 1966 Prince B200 with a 3.3L engine and 3spd column change with overdrive. Goes well for what it is, gets the death sways at about 90+ mph though. Was browsing trademe one day last year for something old a different and this popped up. Got the owner to send my heaps of pictures cause it was in taupo, caught the bus down that weekend and drove it back up. costed 2400 which i thought was a score for something with wof/reg/cert. bonus points as has a cb/pa system too. since getting it home its proven itself to be rather unreliable with every outing usually leading to something interesting and most likely annoying happening. I had to fix fuel lines and fit new filters as the glass bowl ones were sucking a bit of air in and causing car to die when put under load, rebuild carb, the whole ignition side of it rather arse so redid all that and since last nights drive its developed a nice sticky accelerator which i may need to sort soon. rust wise it has nothing wrong with it as far as i can tell. the last guy did a crap job prepping before painting it so needs some loving. Car has stock rear suspension with cut springs in front, about 80mm from sump to ground. may need to do something about that. Plans are original hubcaps/hubcaps that look the part there and some whitewalls. will need to lower the rear at some point, rake looks cool though. Was going to repower with a holden 308 but those plans have fallen through. More pictures to come.
  2. Hey all. Southern Skyline Enthusiasts members are converging on Invercargill on Sunday December the 9th, and it'd be great to have some classics (or anything really) come along too. We've had a number of successful multi club meets with ClubSub, NZHondas and ToySpeed before, but this is the first time i've invited Old School (don't know why i haven't in the past to be honest). For those that don't know much about the club, we are NOT flat peaker boy racer hoons who you normally see on the news acting like complete dropkicks. There could be a number of people over 30 (and maybe a couple over 50) heading down and none of them fit that stereotype. Those that do fit it come along to a meet, probably get bored since we don't do skids etc and we never see them again! We won't tolerate anyone doing skids or anything though, as it's obviously not a good look - so those that do so will be asked to leave (i've only had to warn people about it a couple of times before, but they never came back to another meet after that, wonder why... ). But yeah, hopefully some of you can make it along, there will be a few non Nissans there (a MK.III Supra and Celica from ToySPeed may be coming along) so just bring what you've got. Original topic: http://southernskyli....php?f=28&t=274 And maybe in Feb or March next year we could be doing a weekender, by meeting in Balclutha and taking the Southern Scenic Route to Invergiggle, and maybe participating in a track day at Teretonga on the Sunday if it coincides. But yeah, nothing concrete yet.
  3. Hey, have been signed up here for a long time and thought it was time to share some pics. Prince was a Japanese make taken over by Nissan in August 1966, who continued with the Gloria and Skyline name. 1962 Prince Skyline Deluxe 1900cc 4cyl. Model code = BLSID-3. This was the third facelift of the 1st generation Skyline. 50 Skyline Deluxe sedans were sold new during 1962 and are said to the first Japanese cars sold in NZ. Being a Deluxe model it has cloth seats, interior lights everywhere, foglamps in front bumper etc. Still has original Prince AM radio, glovebox manual and toolbox. 1965 Prince Gloria 6. 2000cc OHC straight 6. Model code S41E-1. Is a 2nd Generation Gloria. (1st generation Glorias were just better appointed 1st generation shape Skylines) These were bought in fully assembled during 1964, and assembled in Christchurch during 1965 and 1966, and considered a bit of a luxury car when they were new.
