  1. Discussion: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=15434 .. yes its taken me fucken ages to do anything and post pictures up, here's some for starters.. G161z (thats 1600), and '4 on the floor' Here it is pretty much standard, apart from front chin spoiler - made from 1988 Mazda Capella.. Which has been somewhat narrowed and then "plastic welded" - Aka Soldering Iron and lotsa sanding Then I scored a set of these of a dude with a Racing Firenza, Ironically I gave away my previous set of rostyles to Prozac, a couple of months before I bought the car.. These rocked around the boot of my car for ooh I dunno, 6 months.. Finally got arse into gear and went to Elite Wheels, "3-5days" 2& 1/2 weeks later came back 13x7" Which were then promptly delivered to Action Powder coaters (aka another bunch of good Mrs Funt'maRunts) Here they are just before I painted the black outs.. Gots me a Drivers mirror, and some "fresher" sunvisors that actually work - Cheers Gaz/Gaz's Missus, and Burntrubber got some Window Winders that arent broken lol More to come..
  2. Hi all, As of this coming Sunday I will be the proud owner of Vettie for a full year (how time flies!) so I thought it’s about time I make a thread for her. Discuss here I owned a burnt orange Chevette wagon back in 2006/7. Tried to swap the original 1256cc Vauxhall motor and 4 speed gearbox out for a Gemini g161z 1600 + 5Speed, but got as far as the driveshaft and got stuck (student spec finances and stuff-all mechanical know-how didn’t help). - please excuse the god-awful trispoke wheels, they were the only thing with rubber at the time. Around the same time I had the opportunity to finish my studies over in Melbourne, so decided to sell up and shift over to ‘Straya for a bit. Fast forward to 2012 and I’m back in NZ, owned a motorbike, sold a motorbike, missing the fun of an old car and find this for sale: Already had the Isuzu Piazza g200z 2L + 5 Speed conversion done! Bought the car from OS/GM-T forum member aninja before he left for ‘Straya (something about these cars push people to the West Island?). Crazytim got the widened steelies before I bought this, so the car came on some sweet original Rostyle wheels. A couple of small issues: Exhaust stops before the diff Small bits of rust Still has the tiny Chevette radiator Windshield, and side window rubbers leak a bit, so no carpet No rear seat base No speedo cable. No cert.
  3. Hi all. Discussion //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/34636-fbs-gemini/page__gopid__1030017#entry1030017 Got this off Jase. needs a bit of work- the bulk of it will be taken care off by a panel shop. Plan at this stage is fit recaro fishnets (just got a set off tm for cheap) , paint and pannel in factory color and then later down the line holden 308 + bigger diff+ bigger brakes. heres a pic from the day i brought her home. As a temporary measure before i go with wider wheels i'd love to fit a set of mooneye disk hubcaps- the smooth caps like these: Could anyone photoshop those caps onto my car for me? THANKS! Also, anyone in the waikato know of a good (budget priced) auto upholstery store/someone who does it from home? I need the side bolsters on the fishnets repaired/maybe replaced with leather or something. ALSO, I need a new flexplate and good starter to suit this thing. The current flexplate must be worn as hell (and the starters pinion probably is too) ALSO ALSO would love an early 80's head unit for this thing. Tape deck with no CD so I can wire in an AV input. Cheers all!
  4. Starts life like this Playing with some home made 10" wide wheels Fitting the fibreglass flares The start of airbrushing!! What a learning curve it was!!!!!!! At a car show as "unfinished project" Passenger side Drivers side this is all i currently have pic wise , hope to have some more work done on it soon , just settling into a new job , less time to work on it!! Gus aka Lok
  5. 1978 Opel Kadet race car. Bruce Kirk's ex racer, it was essentially a complete race car minus the rear end, seats and belts when I bought it hence I took it to my good friend Tony Lynch of lynchbuilt (Race car fabricators). Bruce had cut channels to four link the rear but hadn't gone much further. Things I've done thus far in Red Vauxhall / Opel C20XE twin cam 'Redtop' motor running twin 45 Webbers Electronic ignition 5 speed sierra with short shift kit Complete Suspens coilovers all round Willwood Brakes up front and new discs and calipers at rear, hydraulic handbrake Ford Escort Diff with Quaife LSD head four linked with watts linkage Holden two piece drive shaft Full cage Rebuilt the channels and floor where previous owner had attacked Performance wheels alloys Yokohama Advan semi slicks There's plenty more but you get the picture. Here's a few pics of the build to date and some of the car in action at Puke last year.
  6. Decided to just start this thread again as there was lots of crap in it and couldn't be bothered editing half the posts. So.. The car itself. I have decided to do a bare metal respray in cream/off white with black window surrounds, grille etc The suspension and brakes. King springs, Whiteline sway bar, ZZR lsd/disk brake diff, adjustable panhard rod, Audi rotors on the front with Commodore calipers and Ferodo pads The engine. Was running a mild g200z but decided that it wasn't cutting the mustard The swap. 3rd generation 3sge from an ST202 Celica, blacktop 4age quad throttle bodies, light flywheel, cams etc The water outlet out of the back of the head needs to be cut down so I can mount the engine as far back as possible. I'll run the coolant sensors further down the line. The cam cover sits too high so this will be modified The old oil pickup was mounted right at the front, unfortunately there isn't much room at the front as the Gem's steering rack is about 60mm from the front of the block so I decided to make a winged sump from scratch at the rear where the original g200z sump was. Quick mock up, just needs welding but you get the idea Few quick pics. This is very close to the final mounting position Head clearance. The dizzy also comes out the back but is not being used, a 60-2 trigger wheel and VR sensor are to be mounted on the front pulley instead. Keep in mind the water outlet still needs to go in there.
  7. this is my 1984 holden gemini on tsw pulse's just lowered all round and standard otherwise, only paid 170 for car and 600 for mags with mint tread bit of a steal i thought!

  9. The dirty thing in all its 'glory' Nothing special. Standard Gemini, paint on cut springs and mags. G161 with 4 speed behind it, can nearly get up to 100! Nearly up for sale finally. PM me if anyones interested. (p.s. if anyone wants to hassle what it is, take a look at what it was! )
