  1. Discuss about how I have been infected with trying to fix rusty old mitsis and should really see a doctor..... Project thread...
  2. Okay like always I haven't been on here for quite some time, so here's what I've been working on the last two years or more. So here's a few posts hopefully in order all at once.... Purchased this sweet L200 off westley, I think hes on here, another mitsi buddy. Was rolling body, didn't look too bad rust wise but whole reason I bought it was because I'm a sucker for twin round headlights This is where it started Discuss here...
  3. My name is Jeffy and this is my truck. Figured I should put up a build thread for this now that ive started working on this, shes a 1947 Chevrolet 3100 that I brought in February this year off my bosses mate just out of Hamilton. Until now I have had a few mid eighty's shitters pass through my hands but had always wanted to take on a proper project that I can put in some real effort into rather then just doing glorified maintenance. The dream had been to buy an early 60's Chevy pick up but they had always been out of my price bracket so figured it was not gonna happen in the near future but then this came up and after selling off a lot of excess cars and parts and a little bit of help from the bank of mum and dad we are where we are today. Im only an apprentice so progress will be slow as the money trickles in but im lucky to be surrounded by many knowledgeable people so I hope to be able to do all the work myself. Running gear: Mitsi L200 Chassis RX7 Batty brakes up front and a EA Falcon LSD rear end Refreshed 305 Chev converted to Carb with a Turbo 350. Have sold the box to fund a manual. Truck is NZ new so factory RHD Cab has been dropped over the chassis with the intention is for it to sit on bang on 100mm without having to lower the suspension. Im sure there is heaps more to say but first thing is to do all the rust in the cab so got it on the rotisserie in the weekend and started pulling the upper cowl off as its cooked. Ill put up more photos once ive figured it out. Discussion :
  4. I got this recently as the avenger is slightly less capable offroad getting to some of my fishing spots. Someone elses project they gave up on, was complete when i picked it up- drove it home- plans are to fix couple of rusty spots & repaint. Slowly getting there in between all the other stuff that needs doing, its a 1600 with column shift, memory lane stuff & the kids are keen to drive something so 'vintage'. Most of my photos of it are too big to upload & im still getting the hang of what i can do with this laptop
  5. Hey am wondering if anyone knows of someone who has done a rb conversion on a l200 ute. I have just started doing one now so am undeterred if its the first of its kind. Project thread: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/48423-targa-1982-mitsubishi-l200-ute/
  6. So have come across this pretty straight looking l200 with no rust ( a little in the door ) that i have started making plans for. As it sits it has no engine or gearbox so i have decided to fit a RB22DET 5 Speed to it and see how she goes. Interested to hear peoples views on this and here to get some great advice at the same time. 7. so this is my daily driver.. pritty tidy al round bit off rust under cab is only thing stopping it from getting a wof, currently running a 4g63 sohc carby engine is a bit tired and think some minor internal damage since trying to fix oil leek. replaced front crank seal but wile doing so accidentaly washd of timeing marks so tryed seting cams to tdc and ended up turning oveer with cams about 90deg out before reliseing cam marks were not the mark on top rocker cover but small nub on left side of head.. shit :/ got it running again but def can tell some damage was done and is still leeking oil and have used so much degreaser trying to find oil leek but seems impossible to locate 100%..
