  1. First time posting so I hope i'm getting it right, I have a nice 1981 EX lancer and i'm wanting to put a 5 speed behind the 4G11 1200 engine, I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me some help and advice, what bolts straight up and what doesn't, will a 1600 5 speed bolt straight in, I feel like I've read that it does. Anyway thanks in advance to anyone that replies with any advice.
  2. Plz excuse novvy post on acct of beingafrustratedgirl/inabilitytoreadinstructionsanyway, Currently moving a 4g63t engine across from one ex lancer to another (originally built by motardbiker, has various adds and changes, which I have so diligently and enthusiastically listened to explanations of (just get it going FFS!). Current ecu is a Mitsubishi RVR MD312467, apparently NOT the same as the Evo1 ECU wired in using the ex lancer loom. New ecu I believe is evo3 and has attached loom. Google has been fruitless. Even in German. I'm told. I need a 'colour coded pinout for the rvr ecu' ... Would like to see this thing going BEFORE the newly acquired blackmail Xmas puppy is having its own,,, Thanks in advance
  3. hey, im new to this forum thing but seems like a good place to ask questions and bounce ideas around. 1st of all im Joe and work on my familes farm in west otago about a half hour from gore or 1.5hours from dunedin or wanaka, im not a mechanic by any streech of the imagination but have always had a keen interest in mechanical stuff and have had bit of experience repairing machinery, like tractors and various implements (usually replacing parts or welding things back together nothing major like reconditioning a gearbox or rebuilding the actual engine). Now curiosity has got the best of me and im imbarking on a journey that i have little idea on where it will take me, all i know is i have a garage and a car to get started on. So here goes. 1. Purchased a 1980 EX Lancer (1200) in very good condition for $2000.00 off a guy in Mosgiel who had bought it for his daughter as a first car but she didnt like it because it had no power steering. It had one previous owner who lived in Dunedin and I think either died or was unable to drive it anymore. Anyway he really looked after it, wool seat covers, must have been garage its whole life as the paint still looks new, only a couple defects and a we dent in the bottom left rear panel, looks like someone backed into something. Starts first pop and has done a genuine 69,000km, (i carjamed it). This car was even manufactured at Todd Motors in Dunedin !! Here's a pic after I got it home
