  1. Discussion: https://oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/77978-pediigrus-83-nissan-skyline-coupe-khr30/ Hey all, I'm pretty new around here but I've been in the old skyline scene for awhile. Most people know me for my 1986 Nissan Skyline Passage GT but I have a small habit for collecting hardtops cars as well. Earlier in the year I finally managed to pick up a KHR30 L20ET Coupe which has GT-ES Badges but I believe is actually a GT-EX. As you can see it's had a bit of a hard life so far. Overall it's in average condition. The interior when i got it was half put in with the roof liner ripped and closer than the ground than on the actual roof. When i first picked it up she didn't drive. Would just turn over and never start so I had to trailer it down from Napier to Wellington. The interior wasn't actually in to bad shape although it'll definitely need a proper cleanup in the future. None of he windows worked and the alternator was also cooked. The engine bay was an absolute rats nest of vac lines, loom and coil leads and just overall mess. Who knows what sort of rust is hiding underneath as well. Whilst the intercooler was a nice addition it doesn't help much when the L20et doesn't actually run. The car is an 83 pre-facelift with facelift bumpers on it which don't fit properly so I'll have to find the rest of the facelift parts or fork out the small fortune for an iron mask front end. The plan for the o girl is give her a good old tidy up and fix some of the classic RFB additions that have been made. Just looking at these pictures alone i can see there's going to be a fair wack of rust work that I've got to do, some panel and paint work, and then the engine. I'm planning to keep the L20et in it and rebuild it up for roughly 200hp. Not sure if I'll get there or not yet though. Next steps are stripping it down and find out what sort of rust is hiding under the car and panels and interior. I'll repaint it the factory white and most likely wrap the bottom half of the car silver to make it a bit unique. Hope at least someone finds watching my pain and suffering enjoyable as I strip this thing apart. Discussion: https://oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/77978-pediigrus-83-nissan-skyline-coupe-khr30/
  2. So time to strip down our B1600 gen1 mazda rotary ute, and build her up to her former glory. We will be working on this build as a family, good to get the kids involved. First things first we have removed the tray and are getting stuck in removing all the bog and rust. Let the fun begin. Would be great to add photos but the files always seem to be too big.

  4. Here goes! Ever since I sold the RT40 I have had a yearning for another high powered old Toyota. Two years of grinding away at renovating a shitty house and I finally have the time & money to enjoy an OS car again. Priorities changed somewhat however and the idea of starting a project like that from the beginning after this house renovation scared me and my bank balance. So after some arm twisting and dinner cooking for the mrs it was decided to go and search for something "finished". This little car was mentioned to me by some Oldschoolers and I had followed the build thread of it over on Toyspeed since it's inception. I guess I'll start with some specifications from the previous owner (because I'm lazy) and pictures from today after I had given it a wash, machine polish & wax to a level I was happy with! All my old photos got deleted from hosting, so rehosted them on Imgur, My old man in the background, we built this together, all started with me having a carina shell and going back to uni so I gave it to him, he decided to put the turbo v8 in it and the rest is history. 8. Hi all, i have a c33 laurel which im putting an ld28 in and i want to turbo it, iv read all over the internet that the l20et exhaust manifold works so i sourced one of these and found that the studs dont quite line up, i did a little grinding work to make it fit but now when i try to fit the intake manifold on it cant fit around some parts of the exhaust manifold. i cant seem to find any info on this. Would an l20et intake manifold fit? what else can i do other than getting a custom manifold as i want to keep costs down?

  11. Got some pictures finally, this is gonna be a slow build but hopefully a good one. Plan is to fix any rust I can find, give the motor a service and tune, think the tappets are gonna need doing soonish (starting to hear them) get wheels, lower the shit out of it and do a motor swap sometime. At the moment everything is standard. Picked it up for 500 last weekend and did a 12 hour round trip from London to Yorkshire and back here in the UK. Was a steal with an almost full MOT (WOF), had to tax, it runs sweet and skids up nicely. Only rust I've found so far is the front lip mounting bracket which is nearly totally gone and surface rust on the suspension etc which I'll be replacing anyways.. Pics! Discussion Thread Here
