  1. So i've had this vehicle for about a year now just been a bit too lazy to document any progress to date. Currently, i'm working on throwing a 20v Blacktop 4AGE into my KE26. Here is the vehicle: I'll post more pics and info soon. Here is link to project discussion: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/46511-robkes-1972-corolla-ke26-discussion/

    werber 32/36

i have a holley 5200c which is a weber licensed copy of the 32/36 dfav carb. its identical in pretty much every respect. i have it adapted to fit a toyota 3a-u which is 1500 opposing flow inline 4. has an aftermarket cam with slightly greater duration but it not mega lumpy and it runs/ran sweet up until recently. having problems at idle with quite bad smoking, smells really rich, i have lowered my float heights, re-jetted idle and main jet curcuits far lower than it was running, replaced needle valve and seat, plumbed in a fuel pressure regulator and completely stripped and replaced any wearable parts like rubber seals and washers etc. i have made the idle problem improve but i cannot seem to tune it out. ive heard webers seem to like a bit of advance up to 12deg static which is maybe my next step but i was wondering if anyone had any better experience or ideas? its embarrasing as and looks like im driving a diesel train down the road
  3. Thought i might as well make a project thread for my daily Trying as hard as i can to not make it a project but theres always things i want to do with it... The car started off very similar to the Rx7..i brought it off a mate who had lost interest in it and got it for a bargain..... Unfortunately i don't have any pictures of when i got it but imagine if you will a wagon covered in primer patches almost creating a type of camo paint job, running a engine that was as close as a K series engine will get to blowing a big end..... the weekend i brought it i panel and painted it.... unfortunately i ran out of paint and the drivers side ended up a bit on the thin side ..... I then set about finding the missing parts i needed including a replacement 3k engine...i found that you can no longer buy a 3k/4k for a box of beers, Toyota tax seemed to have gone up 10 fol.... i ended up scoring a nice little 3k out of a starlet from a member from Club-k whipped that in and it was away (timing chain could do with replacing but still a solid runner) Discuss
  4. This is my first time doing this so excuse me if it's a bit rough I've been a car nut ever since I was little and after years of saving, researching and dreaming, I finally got my first car, a 1985 Toyota Corolla EE80 off some family friends. I'm not very good at this whole photo uploading thing so I'll try get some good ones soon. She is pretty tight for her age with only very small bits of surface rust and low kays and it goes surprisingly good ( for a 2e ). Since I've owned it I have refreshed the ignition, changed the stereo and added a coby muffler for a bit of zing in the exhaust note. I was enjoying being able to travel around without being wet and cold as I've come from a scooter and then this happened. Coming home from the my Grandma's house in Whitianga I thought it would be a great idea to take the 309 road back to a friends house in Auckland and I almost made it . Some crazy Subaru driver cut the corner on me and gave me a bit of a kiss. 1 and a half months later it came back to me with a new guard and a front respray. Since then I have just been ironing out a few niggles such as no driver door lock etc. Future plans include roof racks, maybe a tow-bar and some retro rims if some come up at the same price.
  5. Hi Guys and Girls, First post here. Just thought I would share some pics of my new ol school ride I bought last week from a guy here in QLD, nice guy. He was pretty emotional about selling the car. And I know why.....I love it!!! - It's a 1969 2 door Corolla KE18 wagon. - Engine is a 4K from an KE70. - Gearbox is also KE70 5 speed. - Rising Sun roof decal professionally fitted. - Thermo fan - Extractors to stock exhaust (quiet) - Lowered 2" blocks in rear with KE70 top hats in front. - 13x7 +10 Dragway Wheels with 175/50 tyres. - SAAS woodgrain steering wheel and gear knob. (New OMP steering wheel and quick release ordered and fitting soon) - Temp, tacho and volt gauges. - H4 semi sealed headlights with mesh covers. - Bullet style fender mirrors. - Darkest legal tint all round. - Re-trimmed interior, not perfect but still damn good looking. (headliner is original and a bit ratty). - Original TEQ key! - Old style roof rack. - KE35 retractable seatbelts. Future plans are to upgrade engine to possibly 4AGE 20V, new wheels (14 inch), full respray and suspension upgrade. PS: Ol school Stickers!!! Would like some suggestions for hot wheels for the KE18 (pics welcome) Hope you all enjoy these pics I took today. Cheers, Steve
  6. So, as usual, I have another car to keep me busy (like I dont have enough already) Anyway, its a 1973 Corolla coupe, could be an sl, could be an sr, who really knows (because i sure dont). Bought it off trade me like, 6 months ago i guess, and has been in diffrent states of repair since then. Givian that i just sold my Datsun Ute, I needed a daily driver, so I hav started getting back into this one. Have fixed all the rust around the front chassis member, un the radiator, where they all rust, and am getting into getting the car all together again. So, its a little rough, but its all there, chrome, is all there and everything, but it looks like its had a bit of bog work in the past, and its been sitting since 2001, so great. looks rough, could be why I like it so much. Anyway.... The Plan. - Get wof, - Lower The whore, it rides like a piece, suspention is sagging on the drivers side, usual story. Have a mate with retensioned and lowered springs for rear, and can use other springs in the front with shortened shocks. - Buy flares - buy a bucket seat, the origainal one pisses me off so much, its all busted and blah, so a new bucket will make it feel mean - Buy 14 inch whels blanks of Cam, get some centers put in to match flaes and good off set. - Go racing, I want this kinda set up as a club / hill climb car, so that should be fun. this is all pretty much stage one. First thing first is sorting out the locks, the boot lock had been fucked with a screw driver, so I had to get bruttle and rip the old lock out, giving that, needed a new lock, so bought a set of Solex locks through repco, yay. so putting those in tomorrow Pics! Firstly, how it was looking at the start of todayish, semi re assebled, after doing the front rust, A lovely picture of what the back looks like, Nice boot! will get some paint on that one One crabby interior, Yum, cram seats and door cards, get that shit out of there, also, will be getting rid of carpet, because there is a leak somewhere, and the iside smells super bad and dirt like Mega rippin 3kb, yeah, respeck to the 87 horse power! need to run this puppy on high octane, high comp motor for the win, Solex locks, I like alot. For just a little peice of mind. And how it all looked after todays mish, So, tomorrow I will keep at it, and with some luck, be all wofed for the Friday, Discussion Here http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=8873 Wicked' Seedy Al from Seedy Al's chop SHop

  8. so as you may know by now, i am reshelling the ke. this morning just went and bought a 2 door ke36 wagon. this has been my dream car since i bought my first car. cost me $800!!! it came with two tail gates, ones pretty rusty, 2 bonnets both mint, an extra door as one of them is rooted, 2 grills, rego till july! came with 4k adn 4 speed, but they arent in it. both front guards are brand new, one has been a bit squashed so doesnt fit perfectly but thats easily fixed and also chrome hinges for both doors and tail gate. so got home, and went down to buy some bog and primer etc, ordered my paint!!! its going to be a metallic charcoal / gun metal grey colour. the car is pretty fucken mint, only surface rust is in the back, its mostly ready to paint apart from guards to be sanded. one dent under tail lights that just needs popping out. also came with brand new tail lights for it. i got a few photos so ill post them up when i get a moment. so the next couple of weeks will be prepping adn paint etc then motor swap etc. Discuss: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/19883-trd-chicks-ke-wags/?hl=creamn#entry512609
  9. Some of you may have seen these pics already on rotahavik, but I thought I'd stick them up here too for the lovers of oldschool rollas. Here are some pics of my baby, 1977 Corolla SR. Unfortunately I had to sell her so I could go travelling overseas for a couple of years with the missus This is how she looked when I first got her. Pretty mint, with a few tiny rust spots and about 3 shades of orange. Here are a couple of progress shots during the strip down and rebuild. And here is what she looked like after a respray, reupholster, lowering, new exhaust, tints, electric windows, heaps of little bits and pieces. Ran out of time and money to repower her, so had to make do with Toyotas mighty 1166cc of grunt. Ha ha. Seriously tho she ran mint, never skipped a beat. Sold here to a friend of a friend, secure in the knowledge she will be well looked after.
  10. its a real long term project seeing as im as poor as can be and i have to split my time between wellington and chch original after priming and stuff ssshhh, this is a secret and if anyone knows anyone that has guards bonnets and such for a ke10 4 door let me know please!
