  1. Rack in, u joint angles aren't stuffed.... Be it a touch short. Everything rotates and doesn't bind. Tried jazz axles, too long by about 10-20mm both sides, need to trip to pap and conduct some research. Passed pictures and vid to Julian cert man, so we'll see if this is going to the metal recyclers or not soon
  2. Fitting on factory mounts to see where they kinda land. Gearbox mount mostly fits. The mounting to the box bracket needs to be spaced up 20mm at least. Lots left on threads This bracket is reversed 180, used to point outwards, but this solution looks promising for a front mount Engine side looks half OK, needs a little clearancing with Mr hammer, might look for other options though. EG civic half size seems to fit vertically. Outlets ideally need flipping. Top needs to be to the bottom of the picture and bottom needs to be in the middle. Wondering if I can flip an alloy radiator and swap the fill neck... Hole in strut tower temp drilled so I can line up the evuk 7 shock on passenger side. Next up is steering rack, passenger knuckle and maybe drive shafts? Still keen if someone wants to come have a nosey in Wellington, I'm quite over my head here but continuing on regardless Discust below, https://oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/49007-sirges-1972-honda-n360/
  3. Is there anyone in Wellington who's familiar with the cert process for engine/subframe swap (a bit more than a bolt-in affair) who can come over and point out anything I might need to do before I pay for a certifier to come. Currently the engine etc is mocked up and the idea is to get certifier in to tell me how they want it put back together, but I dont want them to turn up and point out all these dumb things I haven't thought about yet. Figured you lot are smarter and more handsome than me which might help
  4. She's touch wider than what Honda built I think
  5. Engine hanging in there, tighter than a nuns faith
  6. New wheels (13x5 from CA Accord)
  7. There's honda / type R track day at Hampton this Thursday actually. https://m.facebook.com/profile.php/?id=100092341151030 Then a Honda drag day and meet at meremere on the 11th November https://facebook.com/events/s/speed-science-honda-drag-battl/1363274627919058/
  8. Forgot to post event link. Word on the street is all the Honda branches in lower north have been notified and are interested in coming. https://www.facebook.com/events/379790071039015/permalink/379790084372347/
  9. Not sure how many rusty Hondas are on this page, but just getting the word out. There's probably more people here with honda generators tbh, OS generator and lawn mower convention??
  10. Tried to search but nothing came up in the first couple pages. Repair certs vs "Getting a panel beater report for repairs"/wait 28 days, fix it yourself, then go for a recheck. What's the flags in the WOF system for noting which stuff requires an actual structural repair cert? How does a regular person know if it's something that will require an actual repair panel beater vs something that can be done themselves (Like for a piece of surface rust that is larger than 3cm etc)
  11. The area is the bottom and centre of the firewall just left of the clutch pedal. The car is a Honda N360 (about the size of a classic mini), the subframe is from an 80s civic/crx.
  12. @cletus retrofitting another cars subframe to an older car. Is it easier for the certifier to ensure its safe by cutting and changing the subframe to fit the car, or cutting the car body to fit the subframe (it's no more than a tissue box-sized hump required) At first I was thinking reshaping the subframe, but now looking at it, probably keeping the subframe in tact as much as factory probably makes more sense from a rigidity pov I haven't engaged a certifier yet, but this was the last thing on the list to prove this direction is plausible.
  13. there was a guy who K swapped one of these too
  14. Things recently happened as I remember them: 1) Another devil spawn produced 2) CRX bought, dismantled, found epic cancer that had shit repairs on the firewall (See: Actually held together by bog). Not mad just disappointed 3) Tried to put the CRX's B series into N360, that took ages, tried to cut the least as possible so I could change direction if needed. It does fit, but the cost is the hubs would have to be moved out quite some way, and thus the car would be about a foot wider than factory. Cool, but not something I want to do this time round. 4) Bought a Honda Jazz to try transfer everything over, which was always plan A, but when a B series presents itself for almost no money, you give it a go Said Jaaaazzzz. Been in a frontal, but still does skids (Y)
  15. Them supermarket trips are dangerous, too many unintentional neck injuries
  16. Can confirm it's the only method that looks legit that I've seen. Have seen lots of retards do angle iron bullshit in the states, those brackets look half decent.
  17. It was a hypothetical question lol. More around was there any rules that says that there must not be holes, like there are specific rules around the size of rust
  18. Can you fail wof if you've just cut out the rust, so no more rust, it's just a nice cleanly cut hole
  19. Sorry, yes sidetracked. Found link for someone posting aliexpress carbon https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32785723466.html?shortkey=ymqQvqei&addresstype=600 Anyone else got links for the other products you need? I'd buy locally, however I just want to have a bit of a play at some point with minor investment Need wax, pvc mould release, resin and cloth like in above link. Have found some examples below locally and aliexpress, any advice? 20. Interesting, however internet tells me it's still not as bad as we think. "Every gallon of gasoline burned creates about 8,887 grams of CO2" So that means a full tank of gas (Say 10 gallons or ~38 litres) produces around 89k grams of C02. More internetting says car aircon units use about 350+ grams of r134. So i mean it's not ultra bad for the environment, worth a few tanks. Then again Diesel is even worse. And how much heavy ship fuel does a cargo ship use, or a coal power plant...
