  1. Well not a lot has happened with this. Paid for a spot at Keisukes Valentines day track day at Meremere, and was going to drive this, but our compressor fucked out so couldn't get it painted in time. Luckily a mate Stan offered to share his 4age KE70 with me. His cars awesome fun to drive, a tie rod end got bent on Stans first session out so went and got another one and got out on track pretty quickly. Also got some in car footage, excuse the spaghetti arms. <iframe src="https://player.vimeo.com/video/156196513" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe> Had a hell of a lot of fun, and it has convinced me to get another KE70, which is where this comes in. Stan actually bought this as a street car build but then found a AA60 he preferred so i grabbed this. Currently is running T series drum brake diff, T50 and 2T with twin carbs. Will sell off the 2T and get a smallport 4age, already have some Ae86 coilovers to go in and have a set of 13" MK2s on the way. So after ive painted the Celica it will be up for sale if anyone is interested. Will come minus a few things but can work that out
  2. Don't suppose you want to flick off the 4.7?
  3. I'm picking up a couple of people from the airport at like 7 30 Thursday, in whatever car, may be my daily atm. Then will be heading down straight after that so if anyone wants to convoy down a bit later and not worried about missing a bit of the track day could head with us.
  4. Disconnect the battery is all you need to so
  5. So long time fuck all happening. Life/other car took all my money so not a lot has been happening to this. Buuuttttt It now moves. Haven't moved it far as it has no brakes but it does. Got my driveshaft lengthened and chucked it all in. There is a hell of a noise coming from the engine which i am praying is only lifters, I think the noise was amplified a bit by being inside the garage so will pull it out tomorrow and whip the cam covers off to have a look. Umm what else. Oh got another dash as my one wasn't coming up with the speedo, revs, fuel or temp as it is digital. I know the dash i got is good cause i saw it working but its still doing the same thing, so need to check some simple shit to see if its a fuse or earth, if not its off to a auto sparky. Painted the rear strips, only thing is they are really warped so they stick out but isn't a lot i can do about that, and all the other ones ive seen are rusted away so they will do for now. Am selling my Celica so will be using the BCs out of that in this, and have test fitted a 9j with tire on to see how much work i need to do to fit them, quite pleased to say not a lot. Am supposed to be taking this to Nats so am pushing it a bit haha Talk shit about my shit : //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/50314-beachlanders-mz12-discussion/
  6. This is dream spec. Cant wait to see it done. Live upstairs sort of deal?
  7. You are a braver man than I for sanding on a day like today. Coming along very nicely.
  8. Lowered the back and put the pair of 9j MK3s i have on for a test fit, look quite good. Then got it ready for Keisuke's Xmas Bash. Had a real rad time, all the things i have done since the last track day have made a massive improvement, was able to manji pretty consistently down the track. Tried my hand at some entries which failed miserably. Around mid day made a rookie error and hit the front against one of the concrete barriers, bashed it out so i could drive home, but nearly ready for paint. A bit bummed about the damage but overall pretty happy with how i went, just need more seat time which is my goal for next year.
  9. S13 front end fucks up geometry in Toyotas. Might be cheaper but doesnt mean its better.
  10. Got Todd (driftnmaz on here) to mount my seat, had to bolt it to the floor as otherwise my head was going to be on the roof. Also got him to raise the rear section of my exhaust and chuck a new muffler on as mine was fucked. Now can lower the rear to match the front as the exhaust wont be trying to smash itself to pieces. Then just need to fit RCAs and take it for an alignment next week and am good to go for the next track day in a couple of weeks.
  11. X71 etc has the studs like that, but look too large. Want to get the measurement between studs and I'll check mine?
  12. Have bought a bucket seat for my car, but due the cars low roof line and me being quite tall I can't use a normal seat rail to mount it because my head will end up on the roof. What's the rules around solid mounting the seat? I will more than likely end up caging the car, getting authority card etc but until then am in able to do it for cert?
  13. Bought some shit for this. Got some T3 RCAs but they sent me the wrong bolts so need to get some more. Knuckles are being made. A mate put me in touch with a guy who made me some solid subframe risers. Also finally got myself a decent seat. And have some 14x8 -12 MK2s on the way as the MK3s are going onto my Z12. Hope to have everything in by December for a drift day coming up.
  14. Only you get black flagged you dirt dropping machine.
  15. I was sad to see it go, but this was always what I wanted, so I guess it worked itself out
  16. I forgot you bought that fucked one. Any idea if you are keeping the tail lights? Also keen on some other bits for spares if you arent keeping everything
  17. So been working on my Mz12 today, started it up etc, noticed dash wasn't working. Pulled it out and had the key on the on position, noticed some smoke coming out of a small part of the loom for the dash. Now I need an auto sparky to find out why, cause I'll probably burn the car down if I tried myself. Anyone know someone they can reccomend that won't charge a million dollars?
  18. Yea its really tidy. Was the main reason i bought it tbh. Tried buying some paint today for the bumper/trim stripes but the place was closed. Will get some next week. Going for black, helps split things up a bit. The wheels were around $800 for the pair, which didnt include buying the 6Js, but still super cheap for what you get. Pine is great to deal with as well, real good dude.
