I'm not sure if Lloyd from toyspeed is on oldschool but he is a top bloke - unfortunately I have no contact details. Except he worked at http://www.citymech.co.nz/ when I used to live in Dunedin. Fuck that's a lingling post - sorry!

IT'S ALIVE! Stoked that I actually diagnosed this correctly (for once). I see what you did there... Take her shopping...? "Those shoes really bring out your eyes..." or something.

Mrs wanted new shoes meant I could get stator sooner...arrived today, there's something about boxed NOS. I'm hoping I'll get it fitted tonight...

I've got a spare pair with disc/forks/calliper even I think... X7s are awesome, the first 250 to do a genuine 100mph I believe

10 weeks later I managed half an hour in the shed. Stator is shot -> NOS from uk is ~$300 so I'll save some pocket money and get it here. May even manage to ride it to Hanmer

I'd own one, this looks like a very tidy base, well played!

My dad owned a 1977 one of these from 79- 84. By 1984 the replacement guards he'd installed in 1980 had rusted completely through again! If it has survived this long it must be a good 'un

Oh the issue is that I'm 6ft 2". A lower seat will decrease legroom even further than I already have by fitting clip ons. The comical aspect is my knees being higher than my elbows!
-
Dent is clip ons related, once I've got steering stops sorted I may fix tank...but I should get it going first!

The downside of being a teacher is being keen on 'the rules'!

So if I got rid of my pillion seat it'd be a winner For future reference http://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof/motorcycles
-
Is it a wof issue? I think my DR-Z400 needed pillion pegs as it had a pillion seat or I could be making that up....
-
Ah yes, a brat seat makes the ergonomics of an already small bike a little bit too comical/uncomfortable for me...

No testing done yet, just trying one thing at a time until I get it sorted. I was dopey enough to pay a bike shop to sort a 1987 Suzuki DR250S a few years ago, I pulled the pin at $5500 invested with it still not running... I'm going to delve into the workshop manual tonight and have a read up...quite stoked that I have 4 spare stators so hopefully there's a good one amongst them. X7s are choice and actually pretty damn quick! I'm not too sure what to do with the tail section as I want to keep my pillion seat...feel free to post inspiration!

As it looks as of yesterday!

New CDI = still no spark. I should know better than to expect Suzuki electrical gremlins to go away on the second attempt at a fix...

My little brother's wagon was parked in the same spot presumably only a few minutes earlier... (Not from the hard park, but a photo so you can get an idea of how much you improved the spot!)

NZPC Summner tour Christchurch stop 23rd Feb (This weekend!)
Willdat? replied to AndyGal's topic in South Island Region
I went to the Nelson event, pretty impressive turn out considering the Nelson car show had less cars just last weekend. Highlights for me were a stock looking Ford RS Cosworth and a Campagna Trex...
