  1. yeah i might keep it level but try and roll them up at the end slightly
  2. So heres a shot with all the wings painted up. In the mean time i have picked up a datsun 1200 diff. Its 1300 overall drum yo drum. An the factory carry diff is 1280, i could make do with another 10mm of poke so im happy. Have sussed out all my trailing arms to do a 4 link conversion just nee panhard bar an some sort of coilovers. Motorbike suspension might be the way to go, designed all the bracketry and it will be made this week. On another note i have started on the side skirts or whatever you would call it and im stuck as to how to do the back end Straigh skirts or slanted skirts If its tapered at the rear then i dont have to do anything, if it is then i have a bit of work to do to try and blend it in
  3. so here is the chin lip and the roof spoiler also got stuck into the wheel bearings and oh my no hub, the hub and the drum are at one with each other on another note i now have ke front suspension to mod to fit the front as a brake upgrade and i also have a datsun 1200 diff to slot in the rear for better motorway capabilities Wez
  4. Haha i have a fast toy already, all my mates are trying to convince me to do a 12a coversion but i think a motorbike motor would be just as fun and would rev to 10k + with next to no mods
  5. Heres a pic for size comparison So i sat down one day and thought of what direction i wanted to go. I missed out on richies advans and dicide i wanted to go along those lines. I managed to find a set in perth and luckily i new the right people and they were on thier way in no time. So they turned up last week and i got them fitted up with 175/60 r13s and im very stoked with how they look on the ute. Also folded up a rear wing and am not quite happy with it so a new one will be folded up tonight along with 2 other spoiler type things Stay tuned
  6. Project thread here viewtopic.php?f=17&t=34934&p=878781#p878781 Discuss away.
  7. Disscussion thread here viewtopic.php?f=18&t=34935 So this is the wee beast as i bought it, im offically the second owner. The ute has a bit of history in the area. Was bought from the dealers down the road in 1983 hand has been in the area its whole life. When i took it to the dealers to get a few parts they all knew of it and were more then happy to help out. It is an st90 with an f8a engine (thats a mighty 800cc of fury) It has a curb wheight of 645 kg so thats not to bad really. Downside is it has a 5.1 diff and isint quite motorway capable(problem to be solved)
  8. and what little photos i have of the tube frame rebuild i was very thankful to know some one who had a flat front kp fully stripped waiting for me to go and take measurements to ensure my front end would end up with the same kp geometry. the decision to tube frame was made the monday night after all this wall hitting stuff happened, i managed to cut the front end off down to the rails the next day and then spent the rest hunting down tube and box section to rebuild. the wednesday and thursday were left to get the job done. friday morning all that was left to do was lock the spare diff and head down to taupo for the club-k tenth aniversary track dayon saturday. all to turn around and come back up for hori dori ten on sunday here is a couplke of picks of it back out in action
  9. and here are all the damage pics crumple zone did its job drivers side chassis rail got all kinky due to the movement of the engine it ended up with the cam against the inner gaurd, very thank full i chose to run steel pulleys instead of the typicall plastic/polycarbonate crap
  10. okay now that im home and i can organise all this stuff heres some photos i took before the pukekohe j spec test day (before the accident)
  11. will sort pics out soon when i get home(aus) havent got my own pc to colate pics and host
  12. front end has been fully replaced it handled a whole day at taupo track 3 with high speed drifts and mucking around at hori dori, all with only 2/3 of the tube frame welded. most welds i was unhappy with (wind rain, mig and no sleep) also the whole tube frame front was assembled whilst engine was in so not all pipe had 360 degree welds. next holiday i will pull motor outs and reweld alot of it and make a few tweaks to the design
  13. Tubes box section and a hole lot of plate sourced
  14. my tube from cross member held up and fucked the drivers chasis rail also passnger side is beyond repair
  15. written off, now what, tube frame front end?

  17. Just picked this up yesterday. Will be economical as, looks qwerky an should hopefully keep me out of trouble. I will officially be the 2nd owner of this little carry, Plans are wheels, slams, better diff ratio, panel & paint then fibreglass and stickers
