  1. I have a manual d shaft off a manual gx61 with 1g sitting on the floor in my garage. Would ya like me to measure it for you?
  2. There hasn't been a great deal of progress here lately but I've put the rego on hold and I'm actually going to start the manual conversion. The clutch kit is ordered and the flywheel is getting machined. I discovered a small water leak behind the engine from one of the heater hoses so i will sort that out once the gearbox is out. Possibly some other cool shit will happen while its off the road but that's a story for another day... I'll leave you with these photos i took when it was at about 30-40mm high
  3. been slowly getting this engine wiring sorted out. Everything seems to be working as it should, have got spark and injector pulse. Weekend mission is to get oil and filter on and it, fill with coolant and sort out the fuel pump situation. With all that done it should in theory fire straight up! Purchased this lip, its going to be a shit to mount but it will look the part when its on there. And just for something different i tried some wheels on. SSR MK3s 14x7.5s. They fit pretty sweetly but the front guards will need a good rolling. Also done this just to liven the engine bay up a bit sorry about the shitty pics!

  6. So i have sorted out the driveshaft problem i was having. I guess the difference came from the fact that i went from auto to manual gearbox. The engine is definitely where it should be. Found a two piece driveshaft from an early L200 and fitted the front half of that to the back of the existing one and it fits perfectly! yuss! just need a new universal for the middle and to swap the hanger bearings bracket over and that's sorted. Now i just need to modify the x member so it will bolt on where the old one did and all will be swell. But that makes for some pretty boring pictures. I also took the springs out of the front and tried some wheels on for size......
  7. Got this chin spoiler thing sorted Chopped the one in those ^^ pics in half and with a lot of fucking around and a lot of masking tape for test fits and a lot of angle grindering and shit, i came up with this....
  8. I've only ever seen fibre optics in a car once. It was some old euro piece of shit, maybe a jag or something? But it was purely for lighting for instruments etc. There was one or two central bulbs that shined down a plastic straw looking thing and split off like 10 ways and snaked off all over the car to light up all the displays and switches n shizz. It's a good way to save on little bulbs

  11. Oh right well after a proper measure it looks like I'll need a spacer about 80mm thick which is probably getting a little on the large side. The yolk is just touching the out put shaft
  12. I do, I have a sigma one and one from that turbo ex I wrecked. The sigma one looks identical to the one it already has and the ex one looks like it would sit the engine even further forward. I think it must just be because the car was auto that the gbox xmember bolts to a different place. If the engine was moved back the 70mm to suit the driveshaft and gbox xmember then it would be hard up against the fire wall. Guess I'll have to modify up some thing to mount the gbox and lengthen the driveshaft. I haven't measured properly yet but the 1 piece driveshaft from an ex looks to be the same length as the 2 piece sigma one

  14. Are driveshaft spacers a thing that's legit? Was thinking it would be easier than length ing my driveshaft about 50mm when a spacer the same size could do the same thing. Also is there a certain amount of the driveshaft that needs to slip into the tail shaft? Or is that just one of those things that "aw yeah that looks about right"
  15. So you may or may not already know I'm putting a 4g63t SOHC in my galant as we speak. I just bolted the engine n gbox in and it turns out it sits about 60-70 mm further forward than I thought it would. That's all great news for firewall clearance but the gearbox xmember is too far forward, the driveshaft too short and the hole I cut for my shifter was a waste of time! I bolted the gearbox up on its own and with the xmember bolted to where the old one sat it seemed to sit perfectly. The dshaft was the right length and shifter hole almost in the right place. Can someone tell me if there is an alternative engine crossmember I can put in there to sit the engine back to where it seems like it should be?

  18. long time no update! Well this does still exist. That is if you consider being parked at the top of my driveway not moving for months at a time much of an existence. So I sold the LSD head i had a while back as some guy really really wanted it for his celeste. Being 8 bolt and very rare he offered me a stupid amount of money for it. Luckily i had lined up a 10 bolt LSD diff head and housing so being a sweet upgrade opportunity i went and sold it. This should have worked out great as the brakes and axles etc will just swap over. BUT when my new diff showed up it was only a dam 8 bolt!! Cant really complain as i brought it for a fraction of what i sold the other for , but still! fuck. So since i couldn't really be fucked with it after all that that LSD sat on the floor of my garage for ages, untill just last weekend when i decided to chuck it in this car, blow the cobwebs off it and entered in a local motorkhana. Gotta say, for a NA this thing gets loose with an LSD, i spun out lots but the car went awesome. I didn't get any record times at all but shit it was fun. As you can see by the stupid grin on my face
  19. been putting stuff back together think i've got everything i need to make the engine work now. I will be putting an intercooler on it once a get one, that horrible piping is only temporary. Got my flywheel back today from being machined. Also splashed out and got a heavy duty clutch kit to go with it pink means it goes fast right? So that will all be getting put on and the engine can go back in! wish they were a little wider. But they look pretty good. scored this random set of 13x7s though which i might slap on for the mean time. Think i'll just swap the tyres i have on the steelies to them for shits n giggles. They have a pretty sweet offset. lowrider

  21. yeah the brake booster one is there but there isnt any other ports. This is a fwd manifold tho. maybe that small one on its own on the back there would be for the map?

I need help identifying what these vacuum ports are all for. there is this one on the side of the throttle body opening and one in the middle below it (to rocker cover?) .... and this lot here on the back of it. I'm guessing the lower one is for the vac advance on the dizzy but the rest i have no idea Also what is this other pipe in the sump supposed to be for? Thanks and sorry for the average as hell pictures

  24. oh gutted, thats not cool!. Ah the paint was a one off mix made up for the car ae. I might have a bit of the it left over somewhere tho i'll have a look around for it over the next couple days man. Is it still going good?
