I can see the correct dimple through the cam sprocket.

A good rule of thumb is your keyways/locating dowels will be straight up when the timing is right.

Yes. change it without starting the engine.

Change your engine oil.

The fuel gets past the rings and into the sump. It dilutes the engine oil which can lead to engine damage.

The steering rack always seemed too high to make this easy.
