  1. 2" compression bent exhaust with an oval muffler and coby. Tradition, over trend. I always found the factory Sport extractors with small primaries and 4/2/1 design to work best.
  2. Hilux, Hiace or Estima might be a good option?
  3. That's a bugger. Getting it up to temp then retorquing the heads might help?
  4. I've had the same issues buying things from companies in Straya. It's a pain. Personally I'd be finding a stock replacement Toyota clutch kit, or even just the cover that was the right diameter for the flywheel, then get the flywheel redrilled to suit that kit. I suspect something for a HiAce or similar would fit the bill. Failing that, could you get the cover set up dead center, drill and tap the incorrect dowel holes so you have a 6 bolt cover and have 3 new dowel holes drilled.
  5. Try a garage that does LPG wof. They should be able to point you in the right direction.
  6. Wow. Your brother brought an old car, it needs repairs. Who knew?
  7. Not nearly as sexy as I initially hoped.
  8. Intake manifold gasket leaks were pretty common on these. They would show up when the engine got up to temp and the cold start enrichment stopped. IDK.
  9. @cletus I remember Hondas playing up when they didn't get coolant into the throttle body after cooling system work. I wonder if the water lines have gunged up? Could some tactical compressed air chooching alleviate your problem?
  10. Have you considered a Borg Warner 78?
  11. That's exactly what early Prius had. A huge bank of nimh sub c cells. They were unreliable as a pack of 6!
  12. Depends on your budget. I'm poor so I replace them one at a time.
  13. Buy a new coupling and a rated safety chain while you're there.
  14. 3/8 air brake hose works well. You can get it from truck parts shops. @h4ndWayne. Get some Chinese cylinder heads too, become the one stop 1kz shop.
  15. Cool. +1 for mig construction. Furniture tube and exhaust tube work great, the chain stays wont be very strong the way they are in the picture with small diameter tube? I'd be tempted to use one piece of large diameter with smaller chain stays at the end in a Y configuration.
  16. Find a small motorbike carb for an engine of a similar size and adapt that to your engine with an exhaust tube manifold.
  17. @mlracing.co.nz The S600 is really cool. What does it drive like? What are your plans with it? Really looking forward to more pictures tbh.
  18. A bit outside the scope here. Would you consider an electric conversion? A quick Google suggests that an aftermarket controller for Leaf powertrain parts is available. In a sub 800 kg car it would go really well. Possibly not that expensive compared to buying and fitting a modern 4cyl engine when you take into account ecu, fuel system, exhaust, cooling system, custom sump build, tuning etc.
  19. Depends how you do it. I think people try to bolt a stock escort subframe straight to their Anglia and then an Escort motor onto the mounts and everything is in the wrong place. Conversely mounting the struts first, cutting the stock subframe mounts off the Escort subframe then sitting all in place until you have the correct castor etc and making mounts to suit that is a much better option.
