    finally got hold of the owner and its rego on hold and for sale  he drove it 4 odd years ago. he did mention that the brand new battery he out in it then would still be brand new.......um yip ....

    wanted 5k for it dropped to $1k after 30 sec negotiation

    last night a 540 same age and kms sold for 2k on the  trades, so figure they really arent worth jack.

    to get a battery, 4 x tyres, fluids change, decent cut and polish to bring the paint back will cost easy a grand alone. add getting  wof and reg. its pretty much worth scrap value or less  if i want to buy the wife a bottle of grape based calm after i find out its junk and zebra tow it away

  3. Is an Aussie 9 inch if the same caliber as a us 9 inch. With out starting a diff debate i know the hod rod boys quite fancy the us ford 9 inch as diff of choice.  Is au 9 inch the same?

  4. So i may have a standard pre kumeu dilema. 

    Could potentially get a v8 hq ute that has been barn stored for 20years.  The owners son has oked it.  The owner is 50/50 (has been keeping it for son to do up 15 years ago)

    its rust fucked but solid enough to drive.  

    True kumeu spirit would be get it running and go

    it would make alot of sense not to tho

    im working on a old boy mate of

    mine who has a hq ute in one of his many sheds.  Said veehikle has not been turned over in 20years.  

    Last he touched it he put new rings in it. Apparently it wouldn’t run as he didnt prime the oil?

    it seems complete minus radiator and alternator. 

    One rocker cover has been off yes for 20 years.  Everything has been covered in towels.  Stored dry.  

    First step i figure would be pull plugs and lube cylinders before hand cranking

    Lay some todo’s on me.  Check oil for water.  Comp test.   Etc.
