  3. Man thats sad! Looks like a great source of parts, but its getting a bit spendy for my liking.
  4. I've got long-tube headers on my 68 and never had any issues with them. I'll try and remember to get some photos of them next time I'm near the car.
  5. Dad painted a Ford Escort for my mum with one of those way back in the day. Looks mint in the grainy early 80's photos
  6. Is the vinegar bath anything more than just a bucket full of vinegar?
  7. I got way too excited to click the link when I saw there was an update The sump mount looks trick!
  8. Does the clutch sensor need to be analogue?
  9. Yeah I priced up one from Alibaba and it wasn't as bad, but it was still going to be a lot of money and wasn't quite going tick all the boxes.
  10. Wheelstands with the kids on the back?
  11. No mig lol I only own a TIG. I’ll do a bit of reinforcing of the places that look a little weak. The chain stays will be 16mm furniture tube. Tie down points - tick Thanks!
  12. I've been wanting to cycle to work more often and use my car less. The biggest barrier to this is that I always need to be able to pick up or drop off the kids and always seem to be needing to be able to carry lots of stuff. We did an E-bike conversion on a mountain bike for my wife a couple of years ago and its been awesome. So I've decided to have a crack at building myself an E-bike, that can carry the kids and/or some stuff. I'm opting for the long-tail style rather than the front load "cargo bike", mostly because it looks much much easier to build. Somewhat inspired by: @ThePog feel free to chime in with any lessons learned. Things I want: Low bar / ladies frame so I don't roundhouse kick the kids 26"+ Front wheel 20" rear wheel with a hub motor Under-rack mounted battery Decent solid basket/rack on the front Long seat on the rear that the kids can sit on with something to hold onto, and that I can attach the toddler rack seat to. Storage in the cavity between seat post and rear wheel I've got an old 10 Speed to adapt. So have started taking measurements and sketching things up.
  13. An outfit called "Flaming River" do power rack and pinion kits for them at around USD$3000
  14. Wow, I haven't updated anything on here in a long time. The old muzzy has just been doing its thing. Usually it starts, and we drive it places, and put it in the shed, and then it starts (usually....) and then repeat. Very little has happened in between. Road trips: Weddings: General good times: Precious cargo: Moving cities: Yes, that was all in the trailer with the car. Yes it got damaged (despite extremely careful packing), but not bad enough to be too worried about. Old car stuff: The alternator doesn't keep up with the headlights if you are at idle in traffic for a long time... I've just been fixing up a few things in preparation for Americarna this week so thought I'd update on here. Little things, like my electric fans have stopped working, and I'll definitely be needing those for americarna! The rear speakers haven't worked for years... not sure why I put up with that so long, turns out I just needed to plug them back in and cable tie the wires out of the way of the stroller going in and out of the boot. The parts being collected for lowering and EFI conversion are still sitting on the shelf, but other projects have been in the way and this is the one thing that just keeps on trucking at the moment, so I'm not keep to pull it to bits any time soon.
  15. Thread detail like a Te Puke train, but what was the rego plate on your RMX50? Dads just brought one, wondering if it’s the same bike.
  16. I took the silver bullet for a bit of a farewell ride last night, I wanted to make sure all was well before I pass it on to anyone who might happen to buy it. 80km of the windiest roads we could string together. Bloody good fun.
  17. Free selling on trade me got my a into g with the GT50. I’ve added some more rubber isolation under the petrol tank and tightened up all the engine mounts which has cured its vibrations. It’s such a sweet bike now compared to when I brought it, but I’m ready to move on to the next big project. Tell your friends!
  18. Aaaand a new shed build in the middle of it. Holy fuck. What are the rest of us even doing!? That looks epic all stickered up.
  19. I had always thought a @yoeddynz spec Mazda K series V6 (I know, not a 4cyl) would be a pretty sweet deal in an Anglia van.
  20. That’s not a colour I was expecting but it looks great!
