they will be fine for ages aslong as they are fully coverd, sometimes it can be applied to lightly and you can see a blue ting/steel just visable. This wont last long. Good thick covering coat will last you ages aslong as its not out in the weather.

I to envy both the garage size and the lathe That is quite a way to go. All im looking at doing it having the thread on the strut extended, under the end of the thread at the top the metal steps out to a thicker rod I just want that machined down so I can tap th thread further. Also may want a couple little locating shoulders made up. I'm sure its level of accuracy would be high enough for this?

mine has no power it used to not hold traction a bit but thats because the old tyres were old tyres and the baldest tyres I have ever driven a car on. Has near new tyres and barely slips even if I try.
