  1. eww to both 4K and subaru suggestion, I have daydreamed about an Alfa flat four, would fit nicely- the exhausts would exit through the holes in the engine bay as designed. Factory down drafts and they rev up as hard as your mum. I put a Ford V4 in one years ago, went much better than expected and bolted up pretty easily. Sounded like poos though and broke axles weekly. Looking back on it I am quite embarrassed at my appalling engineering, sheet metal gearbox mount etc
  2. Oh man, got worried when I saw this was waiting for the chop.. Looks good man, you got the proportions right Still side valve? Chuck something epic in there and paint black, I have a Daimler V8 sitting here I have been saving to throw in a lowlight one day. Jealous as
  3. possibly a blocked rear brake hose? I would start there then start looking at the master cylinder. It's possible the washer that sits on the piston is stuck and the front circuit is working but not the rear. Also try a gravity bleed, if it's been an empty circuit it's good to just open taps and walk away for a bit.
  4. Your car: Volkswagen model/year etc: 64 Kombi engine: 1.6 aircooled performance mods done to car: driven to death, diesel oil as it was laying around, exhaust speed holes 0-60mph Time: 3.725 seconds depending on atmospheric pressure (downhill, possibly in flames)
  5. My shed is secured by a rabid pug dog, huge alarm sirens and wooden bats filled with nails. Still down for secret handshake stz and the need for security GC invites only
  6. Yes, it now lives above my office on the mezzanine.. It's in a million pieces with new side covers off ebay. For sale if anyone is interested, don't really have the time at the moment and still haven't finished the Zundapp Bella
  7. Would you like to borrow my time machine to go back to the future- to the Vauxhall parts department circa 1970's? The time tunnel might trip you out a bit and you might end up making your mum fall in love with you or some other weird shit. Otherwise I would recommend going down to Fortress fastenings, or if no luck there go to or ring Burnsco, the marine outfit, they carry some weird cable fixings in stock for boats etc
  8. Ummm we are talking about a 95 Ford, ecu transmission- i don't think so Tim. Solenoids? only the japs were dumb enough to pursue that technological black hole. Check all external adjustments, kick down cable first, followed by getting the manual and checking if there are front and rear band adjusters accessible without dropping pan. Would help if you provdied us with a transmission manufacturer and model code.
  9. Nice job on the mount rebuild, last time I encountered this problem I substituted the mounts for Benz ones. Like this https://www.mountshop.co.nz/shopdisplayitem.asp?category=23&master_group=8&item=23A005 Worth a shot next time, the 202 mounts fit basically everything Clean the engine breather before giving it too much death, seen a few of these spit oil out everywhere coz of a solid blocked mesh
  10. Also transmission level and fluid condition first
  11. try tractor parts stores, a lot of older US tractors used 18mm spark plugs
  12. According to my insanely old spark plug books, the next heat range up for the Champion D-16 is a D-21, should still be available. Champions website still list them.
  13. Bearings? Can't see any in the SW drawing, are you going to incorporate them into the rollers or external mount like the one pictured above?
  14. She will not be missing out on sausages for love nor money..
  15. make a bonfire oi, will pm you my number, as there is no way you were txting me... :/
  16. I am a coming, keep your pants on.. Till later. About to go retrieve the barbeque and burn the spiders out, be good to hang out in my old hood.
  17. As KK has said, gravity bleeding first is the way to go, starting with the master cylinder. Also been a beetle check the condition of the hose to the reservoir. It is common for the older hoses to dissolve internally causing a fluid restriction. If all of that checks out and still no pressure to the front the pressure cup must be damaged or swollen. Been a 73 there should be two outlets on the MC to the front brakes which generally means you bleed the right front first.
  18. Fuel pump relay dude, attached to the outside of the fuse box, closest one to the bonnet. Download the factory wiring diagram and follow that through after checking relay and fuse 18 I think from memory..
  19. Rebuild it? Most likely it's running rich and the float has become a sink.. Check diaphragm also for splits and needle valve for dirt or wear marks. Only adjust the needle with the correct tool which holds the piston in place or risk diaphragm splits Easy to make one out of a piece of steel fuel pipe and a allen key. Just google the original tool for specs
  20. I haz bbq and suitable van to transport, I will dig out a gas bottle and scrub the aids off...
  21. If it is over 40 years old, it qualifies for cheaper registration regardless of engine. Diesel conversion sounds awesome, do it. Looking into it myself for a large old Rover land barge I have here. Also would hardly classify the Nissan as vintage
