  1. The 3.8 looks soooo small with the body on it, should bolt another 3.8 in there and run it v12 spec.
  2. Been busy getting ready for Nats, robbed some parts from the townace to test fit in the hilux. Swapped over the near new monroe front shocks and bumpstops from the van, note the difference in size of the townace bumpstops. The top ones bolt straight in but the bolt spacing for the bottom ones is slightly wider, just had to round out the holes a bit for them to bolt in. And since I had so much more clearance with the smaller bumpstops I dropped the front. So easy to do with a rattle gun, takes about 5mins a side to adjust. Got about 15mm clearance now and it drives real nice much less boat spec, passengers side shock wont come out so only rocking good suspension on drivers side, atleast its on the right side. Added the canopy for camping out next weekend, got a camp bed that fits nicely in the back. Next weeks mission is to get drivers bucket seat in to asses how comfy they would be to run all the time and give everything a good clean so its looking mint
  3. If they bolt to a 3s bellhousing then should fit a 3y bellhousing also? Keen for a rwd 5vz-fe
  4. Though it might be a good idea to get a thread going Whos keen to meet up for a bit of a cruise to Taupo for the trackday next Friday? Maybe sort somewhere to meet in Rotorua with people coming from Tauranga and Whakatane way then head on to Taupo for a sweet day.
  5. This is sweet, cant wait to see it in the flesh at Nats! Please make many drivers confused on the trip up with the awesome sleeperness this car possesses
  6. Tiz gone pickapart paid $350 for it
  7. Will find out more deets, its 20mins up the road from my place so a bit of a haul from Rei to collect it, but could get it pretty cheap possibly
  8. I know of a complete 300zx sitting doing nothing, cant remember if turbo or not but has BHG from memory. Could make further inquiries?
  9. Bang a LPG nozzle in the intake pre turbo with incabin bleed valve to adjust how much you need. Fit EGT gauge and makes sure it dont get too hot
  10. This is looking dammm sweet and very sleeper, cant wait to check it out at Nats!. Keen to inspect intercooler setup
  11. I like the noises your bob bob motah makes
  12. Ended up going to Mags and Tyres at the bottom of the gorge as everywhere else wanted moonbeams or didnt have the oddball size I needed. Was good service and reasonable price for a half decent tyre- had to LOL when the guy recommended a 245 to go on a 6.5' rim when I was pricing up a new set for the hilux.
  13. Yep 4wd liteace are F series Just got to redrill the stud pattern and do something about the huge spigot on the drum
  14. Will try the Te Tahi street place, only need a cheap tyre for the Mrs runaround
  15. Will I need cert for a carb engine being converted to EFI with all the gear off the factory injected version of the engine?
  16. Is anyone available to bring a box of injection bits up from CHCH to nats? There currently in Valiant's possession
  17. YR model? Diagram in the manual shows it as a round 2pin plug near the AFM with a similar plug branching off it.
  18. Toyota manual says the ECU is in the B pillar passengers side so could be round that area or maybe try on e of the hatches behind drivers seat? It could have one of the older style round diagnostic plugs possibly Can borrow the manual if you really get stuck Al
  19. F series are beefy compared to a E but hard to find a good width as most are from estima and around 1500mm wide
  20. Got new rims today Volk mesh 3pc 15x6.5 Looks sweet even with balloon spec 215/225 combo but need more low in the front ASAP Offset is good need to find new outer bands now to get them out to 8's on the front and 9's on the back but thats long term. Scored this visor off VG Just sitting there at the mo need to modify it slightly and make some brackets to mount it but I like it. 21. Find a manual w56 in a estima people mover at pickapart there a $125 from memory and will be pretty mint from being behind a poo 3c-t. Only the small problem of them being shifter linkages on passengers side of the box and cable floor shift. Would be easy to bash/weld the trans tunnel to make room for the shift linkages then run cables into cabin and mount the factory estima floor shift with the bonus of having a remote gearbox shifter to mount in perfect position to suit you. Cheapest way to go W series Would be hori as but meh
