Replacement cylinder kit ordered off Ebay and already on its way thanks to efficient German shipping. Hopefully it gets here by the 24th. Got the engine out of the frame for a strip down to do all gaskets and seals

Not with an air leak effectively leaning it out and small engine small tolerances she got too hot around lunchtime when the ambient temp really got hot Good excuse to get the motor out and do crank seals etc, they could of gone hard when it sat for so long with no kms done to even soften them up. Trying to eliminate all possible sources of an air leak

That clean spot on the piston top is where its been trying to impersonate a Toyota M series. RIP NIKASIL barrel

The speedo is completely analog no micro switch or anything that triggers a cut. The kickstand switch is part of some safety circuit thats linked into the neutral switch so it would only fire if you kicked it over in neutral or with the stand up. The switch for the kickstand is a common Suzuki failure according to mr google. Im guessing that at around 55 the vibrations of 2t lyfe vibrate the switch enough to complete the circuit and cause a gay missfire

Bunged the biggest jet I had in this today and refitted the factory air box with a 35mm silicon elbow to join it to the carb. Opened out the pre filter intake as its only a piddly 16mm wide then took it for a run in ride as its booked in to get tuned with @MopedNZ on Tuesday. It was faster and alot more torque but once it got to around 55kph it would cough and bog. Did a bit of road side tuning by lifting the main needle to see if it helped the situation but still no change. Did a bit more riding and a bit more thinking, it has @Raizer special aftermarket CDI but for some reason it seemed like it was hitting a speed cut still. The sweet factory tool kit is still complete tucked under the seat so stopped roadside again and got the front headlight/fairing off then traced the sub loom to the dash cluster and unplugged it. Got back on the road and WOW it was straight away more peppy even up to the previous record of 55. Out on to a straighter bit of road on a slight downhill and I got to somewhere just over 90 on the needle before I backed off, down onto the flat and it was happy at 80kph. There must some other form of speed cut triggered off the speedo needle, will take the back off the dash when I get a chance and trace wires to see whats up then install a limiter switch for those "it only does 55kph, honest" moments. Pretty bloody exited to see how it goes with a proper tune and bigger front sprocket, its super loud at speed too gunna need to get a supply of ear plugs for Eastcapescapade

Turns out the speedo must trigger some sorta speed cut because it would cough and fart at 55kph Unplugged the dash loom before on the side of road and fuck me its fast now. Pussyed out at 90 something on a slight downhill run. Still running super rich too so cant wait for a proper tune. Its gunna be a weapon

Something that just popped into my head from last years experience is that from Gizzy round the coast to Hicks Bay and then back to Opotiki the only decent cell coverage is with Vodafone. So if your not with them and want to keep loved ones informed that you aint now a local gang prospect/braaapflipped off a bank/data for that sweet snapchat story or streaming spotify tunes a $19 prepaid sim with 2degrees(who piggyback off the voda network) is a good idea for the weekend
