  1. Like this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-ESCORT-M ... 617wt_1139
  2. Won't be cheapest option, but perhaps ring around some local tow yards and see what they'd charge to grab it for you?
  3. I've seen people say "shhh" on 3 forums now, I daresay there will be half of CHCH there
  4. Don't post final plans for alarm either. *shifty eyes* Shed looks big enough to set up a couple of walls / bar with fridge / kegs. I'm sure that is already on the cards though
  5. Then you strip/sand/whatever the one you have now and get a tin of some rustproofing paint and paint it up. Will look like new and last years more. Then use whats left of the paint to paint the other rust on your car. Bang in the new factory filter as mentioned above and spend the saved money on beers. http://www.hammerite.co.nz/products/ps_ ... paint.html Comes in a few types of finish and multiple colours.
  6. +1 also down the road, so can do if others can't.
  7. Tried overseas? The likes of ebay.co.uk
  8. That's a decent set! For the bigger holes, unless it's really thick just tin snip it and put some rubber edging over the edge of the hole.
  9. Not designed to wrap around the frame? I could be missing something...
  10. I don't have one anywhere near that size, but might pay to put your cell up if you want texts
  11. Ah yeah forgot to mention I haven't taken much notice of the road noise, so can't say either way if they are loud or not. Others will know for sure though as they are popular.
  12. Not sure how helpful this will be, but I recently had to get some (17s). Bridgestone MY01 'appeared' to be rubbish from what I read, and RE002 seemed to be the business. Might be a bit high spec / pricey though if the car isn't going to be pushed. I guess anything half decent in a 19 isn't going to be cheap though, so worth comparing them to lesser tyres $$ wise. Grip is always no.1 on my want list, and the price difference between MY01 and RE002 wasn't bugger all for a much better tyre. Well impressed with them. http://www.firestone.co.nz/tyres/produc ... _35_19_95W
  13. Dirty windows? Ahhh, I just assumed someone had tagged your door already As for block and tackle off 4x2, you serious?
  14. Can I tag on to this then? I have a few tyres ranging from 12" to 14" in shit condition, mainly due to age / one ran flat. But would do for skids if anyone was that way inclined. If interested I can go get specs.
  15. Some already suggested it somewhere.... but get them to dig a hole for you while they are there. For that big tree you are looking to get..... then when all done dump the hard fill in there and just take the other rubbish to the dump. Should save some $$$. I found all sorts of previous bonfire remains when I built a deck I also had a pile of bricks left over than I just buried / recycled back to nature
  16. Hammerite is good too, did a bike frame in silver wrinkle finish or something and it came up good and was hard as. Also used a smooth white one on work van around windscreen and it still looks as good as the day I did it. Yeah I think it can go milky coloured if in sun full time. I don't think its anything more than a cosmetic issue though. Won't break the paint down.
  17. POR15 would go good on that. Bit more spendy than chassis black though I imagine. But drys rock hard. Can't recall exactly what it is resistant too oil etc wise though. But if it's freshly sandblasted you just paint it straight on. That's exactly what i'll be doing. Sandblast - paint - done. http://www.permanentpaintedcoatings.co. ... 202010.pdf
  18. Dead link? Keen for a look EDIT: working now, thanks for sharing
  19. Chamberlains in CHCH do custom springs. You might be able to find someone local to you that does too. You'd probably need a good idea as to what specs you'd want for the springs.
  20. Flick this guy a PM memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=11376
  21. Quick question about additional welding to a car body. Restoring mk1 escort at the moment, and to be fair the factory welds are pretty shite. Any reason why i'd be pulled up come WOF time if i've added spot welds here and there to panels to give them more strength? Likewise I see gusset panels available for the car, anything preventing me from adding some DIY ones or is this a no no? Some areas just don't seem all that strong so it would be handy to be able to just add in small sections as I progress. Purely for examples sake: Example Car isn't going to be doing anything than normal driving, so may not be required, but more so asking out of interest if I come across a section I want to strengthen. Yay and nah on that sort of thing? Cheers
