  1. You're so far away, yet still giving me 3/4 race boners.
  2. I wasn't expecting to buy another bike this week, but you know how it goes. An old man came into work and asked "How's your mates gyro going" referring to @Raizer sick rig, so obviously I'd mentioned it to him in the past. He then says he's going to sell his, so I had to go look at it. I then proceeded to fall in love. It's so hilarious. The dude I got it off was 76, and the previous owner was also an old man that got it for his import wife to use, but she never did. So it has quite a few old man spec "improvements" which include LED strip lighting riveted to the body with a crap ton of rivets. Paint "touch ups" which means badly applied rattle can paint with lots of over spray. Lots of random holes drilled in the body, every fastener they have applied is a different drive, and an oil line blocked off with a cupboard shelf support pin and copper wire. So she needs a bit of love and attention, but I was surprised to see it had aftermarket rear rims/tyres and an expansion chamber, so she might be making a few extra microwatts. Anyways, the new bike/trike is a 2001 Honda Gyro Canopy Wagon: Note method of light attachment, and modified floor mat, The lean over/hand brake lever has snapped off, so I need a new one of them. I'll also have to try clean up the windscreen, it's a bit messy. Phat tyres, rice pipe, and old man reflective decorations. The OEM lock is gone, has old man spec latch, will sort something better, Douglas racing rims, and sweet dice valve caps. 100% I'm going to redo the white lettering, Powerplant. Needs an air filter and a few mounts made for fuel pump and coil, plus a few hoses need replacing. The pipe is quite neat, I fucken love these rims/tyres TBH, It's totally getting vinyl stuck on the headlights to make JDM angry slantey eyes, The LED lights are coming off because the are horribly fitted and stick out like dogs bollocks, but I will probably refit them underneath and a more discreet manner. They have like a trillion settings too, So yeh, lots to do, but pretty excited to finally have a gyro. Regards, VG.
  3. Have done a few very short rides on this bad boy, and its running pretty damn good. Its quite nice to ride also, which is a bonus. At nats I did a 75km trip from nats HQ to a museum in Cambridge, and just to be safe, I decided to re-fill it before departing for nats HQ on the return trip. It went onto reserve in the middle of the road in front of the service station, which was a bit of a surprise, as I was told it would do 200km on a tank (6L) but had only managed 75ish. That's around 8L/100km, which isn't great. J5's bike which is very similar, and was pulling the same speeds, and is only 15cc smaller in capacity, used just over half as much from memory, so somethings not quite right. Its defiantly running rich, and often smells a bit gasey, but I cant find gas leaking out anywhere. Will dropping the needle make a noticeable difference? Cant really think of anything else to check/change? I did manage to hit the metric ton in a two lane flat express way race with J5 though, so that's a new PB. Also also, a person on TM who confirmed they had both racks I need, then ghosted me super hard when I tried to buy them. BUT I mentioned to a customer that I yarn to about shit old bikes, what I was after, said his best mate apparently has at least 6x CT200's laying around, so he is actively trying to source the racks for me, excite. Pic4fred: Regards, VG.
  4. As a scum bag north islander, you really do forget how fucking amazing the south isle is. That ride looks like a must do TBH. Also makes me very happy to see the NBC out there living its best life.
  5. Looks fucken sick dawg. I must say, I really like the beefier tyre look on 86's, looks more tough/80's.
  6. Why make the rest, when I can make the best?
  7. So I started on the body. Did some CAD modeling, And then started hacking into 18mm ply, Then I took the old temporary seat and floor off, and made a new seat etc. I then started screwing everything together, And where it's at now, The back corners are meant to be rounded, but that's too hard for an amateur woodworker like myself. The floor and firewall will stay on the chassis, and the rest of the body will lift off. The bonnet and front mudguards will be the hardest part to do, but I have ideas, will find out soon if they will work. Oh and I decided to make it a BJ/FJ land cruiser (maybe it should be an EJ?) because the kids cousin has a Jeep already, and because I'm forcing them to like Toyotas, because not doing so would basically be child abuse. Regards, VG.
  8. Not yet. I have now found a few options on ebay that will work, so will probably give one of them a shot.
  9. Well I did, I just don't want 200 of them. https://tspemotor.en.made-in-china.com/product/qQiYHklTbSVj/China-Motorcycle-Spare-Parts-Right-Brake-Lever-for-Italika-FT-125.html
  10. This place doesn't seem to exist anymore. The internet told me Agtorque was an agent for Jialing, but they aren't, so not sure if there is an agent in NZ anymore? Had a hoon on Ali & ebay but no luck so far.
  11. Also first test ride was a ooge success, runs really well now, and all the little changes have made it much nicer to ride. I just need to grease and adjust the head set bearings and that's about it. It's quite talkey, but does indeed max out around 90/95 on the flat, seems like it's running out of revs, so might try one of the smaller cogs and see if it has enough grunt to pull 100+. Pretty happy with it tbh. Excellent.
  12. I did some CSI spec enhancement on the one for sale on TM, and it does indeed tick all my boxes, nice.
  13. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, yeh they probably will work then, lols.
  14. I think the back ones are different due to the long seat on the gingaling, on the CT they are in front of the brake light rather than over it.
  15. So went around the local bike shops looking for a jet, no one had anything, but one place could get it in, and at half the price of the only ones I could find on the net, so ordered that. While waiting for the jet to show up I knocked some jobs off. Had a rummage through my parts (not a euphemism) and found a set of springy foot pegs, a mirror and mirror mount, and cut the back part of the rocker shifter off as I can't use them (I'm too long in the legs) Taped up and covered the exposed wiring, Went to change the foot pegs, found the old ones were welded on, so cut them off, I then cut the stand, rotated it around to the correct position, and added some length. Also adjusted the shape of the shifter and put some new rubber (hose, lols) on it. Gave those items a paint, and wham, I ran out of jobs, so had a go at making the front mudguard less grot. Tried the heat gun method, then a bit of plastic polish. It got rid of the white, bit is now shiney pink, lols. My jet showed up today, so slapped it all back together, hope to test it out tonight. Oh, also slapped the new tyres on, removed the rear brake hand lever, and moved all the combo switches over so my std thumbs can reach the buttons. How she be currently. I have a lead on the front and rear racks, once I get them I'll get new indicators. Also the front brake lever doesn't have a brake light switch facility, so hope to find a cable spec, right handed lever, with a mirror mount and brake light switch in it. Probably not common. Regards, VG.
  16. Looks like they ran with the super 7s (was that the name of the Rx class?) back then. What class was the 86 in?
  17. This is what the guts look like, haven't actually find a kit online yet,
  18. This bad boy has a PC04 on it, so different shape gasket, but the low speed jet might be the same?
  19. Oh, and it has both a hand lever AND a foot pedal for the rear brake, but because the hand one is on the left, I keep thinking it's a clutch lever. I yanked it a few times in error, but luckily it's not very effective. I think I will just remove the whole rear hand brake set up, as its sort of pointless.
  20. So the new misery is a 1984 CT200 auto ag, which has a WOF (surprisingly) and rego (farm, but will switch to std, is classic now too!) which is a bonus. It's in pretty good nick for a 40 y/o farm bike, but still needs a bit of love. I purchased it site unseen, so didn't know what condition it was in. I took it for a rip Friday night, and it started off well, but died under de-acceleration into a turn, then gas started pouring out the float bowl overflow. I managed to get it running again, but it was being a complete pile of cocks. I got home and whipped the carb off, and found a bit of detritus on the side of the float needle, and the idle jet was completely blocked. I had a senior moment and found the idle jet fit a 1mm drill perfectly in both ends, but wouldn't go through. I thought that was the blockage, but I've since bothered to look up the jet size, and it's meant to be 0.35mm, lololols. So yeh, it won't idle now (it's mega rich), so looking for a new jet. A few of the things I would like to fix/replace/attain are: Both foot pegs are no longer flippy uppey spec, so would like to replace them. Seems they might be shorter than they are supposed to be too. The foot brake pivot is super loose as well, so will need to buy/make a bush for that. It's also missing the front and back racks, so would like to find them. All four indicators are held together with tape, so will replace all of them. The back ones mount to the rack normally I think. The old owner must have had freakishly long thumbs, I need to move all the switch things closer to the grips. The wiring around headset has all been rejoined, I assume due to rubbing through, but hasn't been covered, so will sort that. The stand is all caddywhompus, it came with a few spares, so I'll make a decent one out of them/some steel tube/plate. The forks have been changed to longer/better spec ones, but the speedo cable is hilariously long, so will try shorten that. Both tyres are roooooted, dry rotted and grot. Hard to get a pic, but somehow the front has worn down every 2nd or 3rd knob way more/less than the next, so odd. But it came with a brand new set of Dunlops, so we are gravy. So yeh, has decent bones, just lots of barryness to correct. The motor had a top end rebuild some time ago, and seems healthy. It has an XR200 piston, new cam chain, and seals etc. The other night it would sit at about 90/95 wide open in 5th, my mission is to get it to 100/105 so it can do open road speeds. It came with a few sprockets, and maybe with an exhaust and carb it might do it. This thing is meant to be 13hp, and the XR200 that's the same core motor, just with a better cam (maybe head too?) etc is like 23hp, so there are options. Regards, V "get in behind you mongrel" G.
  21. It sounds sooooo damn good! Amazing work as always man.
  22. Ahhhh OK, nice, I thought they weren't completely ridiculous when I test fitted them to my car, but couldn't quite remember.
  23. Damn it looks good. The fuck you in the eyes red along with those fully sick rims, so nice. Are the rims on spacers or is that all rim? If so, I don't know what the fuck I was thinking when I purchased them for a car with stock guards.
