Re: reading that Diamond back is the worlds most terrible brand. Maybe the shop was just a bunch of muppets, take it back and get them to give it a proper once over.
Yes you can buy a sealed internal BB to replace your shitty one. They are normally pretty cheap but with labour etc will still be looking at like $100
-
For what you want bigger is totally better.
Tippy cup Tom up there is totally right though. Go get a legit brand and spend a bit more money. For something that will be reliable and you can treat a little shitty and still get away with it I'd expect to spend around $700. If you want to spend less go sec9nd hand But be reeeeeal careful as you can easy buy something that requires more $$ than the bike is worth to get it back to running.
even if you wanted to keep your current bike take it back and make them.give you a new one. A bb shouldn't self loosen inside the first weekend.
Ever.

This is now called statutory grape.

It was considered for a brief moment.
P.s. even if you could change the material properties with a lighter, I will guarantee that I can still make the arm look Like it has never been above room temp.
-
Or at least clean it so you don't have burnt grease/dirt errwhere.
I agree a hammer should be enough but saying a blanket rule of no heat makes no sense.
-
What the fact man said.

You'll be fine with heat. You aren't trying to make the arm glow haha, just so it's hotter than the balljoint inside it.
Heat and hammer will solve all things.
-
Cut them so they still have a point to them and tidy them up with a flapper disk / similar and as long as they still hit before other things (diff/other arms etc) you wont have a WOF issue.
Maybe.
-
Cut the shit outta those bump stops. Guarantee it will be 20 times nicer to drive.
Make it look nice though.
