  1. Moving forward like that with bugger all changes means youll be up the front in no time - great work. Painting the frame? Leaving it to Patina or waiting till the end of the season to pull it all apart
  2. Awesome - I brought the Green 330 260C from that family a few years ago (which i later had to sell due to house buying commitments - great bunch of people.
  3. Water pump been out on this engine - fins tend to fall off the old ones - also wire up an aftermarket guage - even a $30 repco one just to see where it sits actual temperature wise.
  4. Seriously how do you get so much work completed - lol - awesome work.
  5. Finally 2nd Page lol So i found my arms and disk hubs etc i already had and swapped them over, also got given a "vicious" LSD diff head although unknown what its out of as has the finned rear plate with 2 mounts rather than my 4. Have also managed to cut the 4 subframe mount bolts out of the laurel so that can go to scrap now. Scored a rear set of HSD S14 coilovers too - Brand new (previous owner only used the fronts), 16 way adjustable and body adjustable. Next is to bolt some wheels onto the subframe and see how wide we gotta make this thing. //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/24645-brocky41s-1978-datsun-120y-aka-tufdat/?hl=tufdat - PROJECT DISCUSSION.
  6. I remember one crash - heres my vid just, to remind you lol - also just saw that was in the '09 (seems a long time ago now). But Boxing on all smacked up was BOSS
  7. Im loving the "have a go at anything attitude" - as above very inspiring.
  8. Nice Ride - and still has solid bones by the looks (well especially when i look at some of the ones ive owned). There is an a12 (mostly complete) that i have here, that one of the guys from the datsun club owns - ill find out if he wants to sell it. Was a runner in a 1200 then removed for hot A15.
  9. Yea i still need you to get yours going to scrape my driveway out lol - i quite like this one too, because roof and turbo http://www.trademe.co.nz/business-farming-industry/industrial/earthmoving-machinery/bulldozers/auction-949956062.htm Too spendy for me - ill stick to starting new projects and not finishing them.
  10. Lol at "notching up my Bulldozer" - dem mini truckers will think your "off the chain" saw this last night - thought of you http://www.trademe.co.nz/business-farming-industry/farming-forestry/tractors/up-to-50-hp/auction-949022005.htm Awesome work though love it.
  11. Mate awesome work - like the fact your actually thinking about spares etc and getting them underway / ready at hand. This is definitely not a slap together stockcar build like most ive seen are. Your attention to detail is spot on - especially when its gonna get rolled bowled and a**holed lol. Finished for this season?? i might have to come and watch
  12. I love how these look big, especially the coupes. But in reality are only slightly bigger than a Datsun 1600. Must be a heap of fun to drive with a 2L or bigger 6.
  13. Aaron (with C10 sedan) also had one but it was for sale a year or so back.
  14. There was some talk of the white coupe - pics and all, of it in NZ on one of those RFB pages (i join those for hilarity) or could have been the classic cars and wrecks page (i join those for hilarity) The guy that said it "was" his said it had been exported back to japan "ages ago", so probs still in NZ hidden away. Also extreme jelly of this car, i could only dream of owning one of those.
  15. Little bit of an update Scored this laurel on the cheap - mostly complete but with all the bits i need. Didn't realize they still did a drum brake independant rear in these - lucky i have hubs etc from a disc brake ceffy. Next out will be the front subrame complete for measure ups and test fitting as ive only had bit and pieces to work with so far. Anyone need an RD28 lol viewtopic.php?f=18&t=16697 - PROJECT DISCUSSION.
  16. Looks great dude - wheels look awesome
  17. So got the engine out Everything was all nice and loose / clean just covered in oil from it leaking from everywhere. Got the head off and all the extras stripped off the block. Couldnt for the life of me get the front crank bolt off so left that for the engine builder (broke a socket, then had two pipes on a strong bar - should have tried when it was attached to the gearbox. When i dropped the bits to the engine builder we noticed the head had been off at some stage as there are various sanpaper marks where manifolds go and the headgasket is wrong ( a mm or so too small around the pots) so that wouldnt have been good - i checked at work and its possible it had a 4zc1 headgasket fitted. 88mm and 88.3 bores. They are going to pressure test the head and strip the bottom end and let me know if its a hone or a rebore / oversize pistons this week. Also told me to bring in all the other dirty / oily bits to get acid bathed too for a clean rebuild lol
  18. Have a look at the Kelpro and or Mckay books at your local BNT (or whoever you use) you may be able to match something up thats the right height etc from there - i know in my 120Y i used a Jag mount on one side and a Ford one on the other as one was taller (needed it that way).
  19. Nice - everyone needs at least one 120Y in their lives lol
  20. So I managed to swap my 15 inch steels for some 15x7 '0' offset alloys with 265/75/15 (31x10.50x15) All Terrain half worns. Came off a UBS55 Bighorn. Ill get around to repainting the centers and polishing the lips once i rebuild the motor. I think they look pretty good, will probably get 30x9.50x15's once ive worn these out as they are a little wide.
  21. 2K Cup Car? surely with the 16V be quick enough - nice score

    Gear oil

I sell the redline all the time, in either heavy or lightweight for the race gearboxes - or for road the MT90. Its about $30-$40 per .946L or US Quart depending on what you buy. There are alot of different products - the friction modifier is a popular one for LSD'd have a look here http://www.redlineoil.com/application.aspx Also +1 on everyone swearing on it - some ppl dont know we stock it at BNT - always get the "oh sweet you guys have that stuff, ill be back for that"
  23. Im +1 on the timing chain issue - one garage i go two has done 2 sets on two of these v6's one had 100kms on it the other a little more, one had a few sensors etc replaced beforehand but was just $$ down the toilet. Both ran mint after chain job, i saw one with the covers off and looks like a nightmare. Swap out for VG30DE 300ZX engine i reckon lol
