  1. Feels like it's taken forever but it's now a complete unit apart from master and slave cylinders
  2. And another damn it. This hole here is 16mm too small to fit the release bearing carrier On a positive the XY release bearing works with 4 speed carrier And my XY yoke fits as well Release bearing number for future reference
  3. Just encountered some issues. Mr AEG Bosch can take care of it This one here I will need to remove this stud and tap into the adapter plate. Its right where the pivot bracket is. Another trip to work with the bell housing
  4. After throwing my toys out of the cot at our parts department my clutch kit has finally been ordered, 3 days later. Spewing. Oh well OS Whangarei meet tonight.
  5. Tomorrow peeps... I may be attending, maybe not. See how the body is tomorrow
  6. Clutch kit didn't arrive, oh well. Pulled the stick off, pretty bloody rusty. Cleaned that up and gave it a lube, and in typical fashion the bloody e clip went flying upon reassembly. Gave it a wash this morning and a wire wheel just now. I'll paint it on the weekend
  7. Not a Holden guy but I do have a soft spot for anything pre VN. Credit to you sir
  8. Took possession of a XD 4.1 Borg-Warner 4 speed. Unfortunately it's not the fabled close ratio box, but it's supposedly as strong as a T5. I'll order a clutch tomorrow as I have the regular 24mm input spline where as the 4 speed is 27mm. I'll also give it a thorough steam clean too, been in a speedway car for a season doesnt help in the cleanliness department.
  9. All this info I got is secondhand, and the muppet trying to fit it didn't know what he was doing. It's a Falcon box, identical to the one I HAD. Swapped it for a 4 speed, and old man took the other one back. Thread can get the lock or delete. Thanks
  10. Received confirmation new gearbox is a Borg Warner single rail 4 speed, as to whether its a close or wide ratio box I will find out upon receival. Goon was supposed to deliver it to Old Boy yesterday at the track. Bah, wait another week or so.
  11. I'm picking XY-XA. I did some digging on exedy and it appears there was a heavy duty box fitted to utes, 6 cylinder Mustangs and F100s. Waiting on confirmation on spline size as to whether I'm going down the right track
  12. I need identify an old gearbox I got as a spare. Was told it was Falcon, but has bigger input shaft. Has (from advice off ozfalcon) an Australian Ford part number of 72DA-7093-AC 050-001-32426 off tailshaft housing. Need to get a replacement clutch plate as one with it is very very average.
  13. I didn't. It's always gnawed at me being a staunch Ford man. When I put that engine in 9 years ago they were plentiful, now they getting worth money. Even with a fluffy lifter I got my purchase price back. Again 93hp vs 210hp, no brainer
  14. Couple of small things done. Tidied the last bits of OEM Mitsi mount off. Performed a little "finessing" on the Patrol mounts to make them fit. Drivers side. Passengers side.
  15. Had Miss13 as an assistant last night. First was punch in a spigot bearing. Part number 6003-2RS for future reference. Bit of hands on experience in the way of roughing up the flywheel. Fit flywheel, found 2 bolts don't line up! Quick call to Dad to confirm and he has struck it before. Also confirmed in Fordforums. Mark out the two offending holes and slight finesse with a file. Forgot to photograph this stage. I made a couple of tiny packers and put them in the voids to take up any play that may occur. In speedway circles it is common for guys to bore all 6 holes oversize, but this has a tenancy for the flywheel coming loose. This is a better alternative. Gave Miss13 the job of applying Loctite threadlocker to the M10x1.25x30 12.9 capscrews (quoted for future reference. Torque to 100nM, spec is 83nM, was recommended by Fordforums member as at 83nM he was finding flywheel coming loose. He used this method, (slightly longer capscrews, Loctite and a little more torque) and has had no further issues
  16. Kevin Free used Mercruiser boat motors which are basically half a 460BB Ford
  17. Cut the remnants of the Holden engine mounts off, and while at it decided to cut the original Mitsubishi ones out I will need to reinstate a gusset from spring tower to the chassis. I separated the engine and box and removed the flex plate. I'll source some longer bolts for the flywheel and some for the pressure plate. And it appears Dad may have brokered a swap, my spare 3 speed for a single rail 4 speed, from what I can gather it's had a cut n shut done on the shifter and cannot be fitted back into a Falcon. 3 speed is in his possession so I'm waiting on him, if not I'll put it back in with one I got
  18. 1st bit of work on this since surgery. Since engine lifter has been repossessed by Dad needed to come up with a solution to get engine and box out again. Made this, its very below average but it worked And got it out and gave it a wash Decided to swap out the front spindle assemblies Yay for vented discs Chassis number of donor for future reference
  19. My brother in law has a VK with a fairly warm 3.3 12 port with a cut n shut GTR Torana manifold on it. He has been assembling parts for a 235 stroker running efi turbo. But an LS has taken care of that. Cheaper, more power.
  20. Thanks mate. Another thing, does gen2 have individual toe adjusters?
  21. @tortron you were saying something about gen2 mitsi brake stuff. What's needed? Do I just need spindles, calipers and rotors? Are the top and bottom arms compatible with the ends? Spied one at our local zebra....
  22. 4.0l SOHC Falcon ala AU. Carbed and distributor ignition
