  2. The clear option for your valve issue is to throw the 4GR in the trash and run the 2GR, just as nature intended.

    Software, the EGR hardware is still on the engine at the moment but functionless, the DPF has a pipe shoved through the centre. The car is pre DPF removal threshold (anything registered after May 2010 has to have an emission cert or something or it's a WoF fail if you ditch the DPF) but I left it looking factory just to avoid hassle.

    In modern Deez spam, I ditched the DPF EGR and remapped the Alfa to an estimated 250hp, but it was a bit laggy and pretty smokey. Suspected it was suffering the usual clogged up sticky turbo vanes, but fortunately found it was just a bit of something blocking up the vacuum circuit so it was getting piss all suck on the actuator. Cleared that out and now it fries the tyres a little too easily. No idea on EGT yet as I don't have a probe. Next up is an intercooler improvement as the manifold temp sits around 40°c cruising and easily cranks over 70 when given the jandal. The stock intercooler sits at the bottom behind the AC condenser, which is full of bent fins and moths.

    They can crack into the oil gallery and things like that. New head reckon injectors new radiator new viscous fan flush the fuck out of the block mechanical pump conversion wind up the boost and fuel three inch zorst no muffler loosely fitted poddy off the front of the blower and send it
  7. You could potentially find a factory flywheel for it, as they did come with a manual box in the IS250. Although there's a likelihood they'd be dual mass and not work with a J160..
  8. I still think a ESC from a RC car / drone is worth investigating haha No idea if they'd actually be compatible with the motor, but I don't see why not, pretty sure they're just a regular brushless design.

  12. On a Triumph it's the overdrive switch. Has a planetary overdrive stuck to the end of the manual box.

    Best option on one of those is to pull the manifold and EGR valve / cooler off, clean the fuck out of everything and fit a breather catch can to reduce the amount of oil vapour entering the intake. If you do ditch the EGR, you ideally want to ditch the DPF as well as that is gonna run into issues with regen otherwise, and being newer than 2010 you can't do that without an emission cert.

    Sometimes they can rotate as well which causes weird running issues. The headgasket holds them up so they don't drop very far, damage is usually very minimal but you'd definitely wanna check the head for cracks.

    They tend to drop down, get hit, stick back up for a bit before dropping down again so you do get weird intermittent knocks from them

    I'm not familiar with the HZ heads, do they run prechambers like the dirty L engines? They do come loose sometimes and give the piston a bit of a taptap. Edit: A quick google says yes they do. I'ma throw a guess that's what's up.

  19. The ride quality will be shit. It totally fucks the spring rate. Best option is to get them reset, maybe get another leag added to bump the spring rate up as well.

  23. I know I'm way late but modern cars will even tell you how many times the starter has been engaged, how many warm up cycles it's been through, how many services it's had, how many over revs it's had etc. etc. So fuck your mileage.
