  3. Hi thanks for that mite just have to use my w58 if the w50 not going to fit at least I wont have to change box if I do a repower later on. As for fly wheel not sure yet will do more research.
  4. From what ive seen the Cressida manual gear boxes have been w55/6/7/8 but don't want to waste my w58 bolting it to a 1ge. I would prefer to use my spare cast w50 has any one fitted one up before? any info or advice would be much appreciated also after any conversion parts you may have. Cheers. Also have been told 3tgteu fly wheel bolts up to 1ge so 2tgeu or 3t should also?
  5. Does anyone know where, which vehicle I can find one of these ? for my mk1 cortina estate.
  6. Hey Thanks for you help guys it seems to be no4 plug or lead shorting to the head as wen I unplug the lead from the dizzy cap the ticking noise i was talkn about goes away so now i have to pull all the induction pipes off to get to the spark plugs lol arnt rice burners so great lmao i so prefer my 1700 twin side draughted pushrod crossflow in my mk1 cortina lol
  7. Yeah tru unless one injector has got shit stuck init. Ive texted a mate to c if he got any spare leads i can try id rather not go swapping leads around as access is quite difficult in places lol
  8. Hey thanks for that Ive already done that seems to be no2 but its more of a miss rather than a cylinder totally not working I have a feeling it may be a blocked injector as there is a major 'tick' from the intake side also would a stuck lifter cause a cylinder to mis like that? I will replace fuel filter and run injector cleaner next week.
  9. Please help me I cant find a good site that tells me the diagnostic procedures for my 1990 RB20E a31 cefiro. It was running fine one day and the next it seems as tho it has dropped a cylinder, being fuel injected and all electrical it could be a fault anywhere and I would like to see If the computer will tell me whats wrong before I go pulling things apart. It is totally stock standard granpappy spec so its not like the computer has to think about mods. Cheers I hope someone can help me.
  10. hillman hunter/avenger clutch plate will fit the sierra input shaft is same size as escort plate same withe the driveshaft but needs to be shortened i think(not to sure on tht one)and you can bolt tht to the diff head with help from a small pinion flange from an early model escort. also the plate between the eng/box will need to modifyed.
  11. ok i apologise if you dont get it
  12. Yeah yeah leave your air filter on anyways what the chances of a stone landing in your carby jeez. I had a srew fall in the no 1 inlet port(with air filter on) on an old 3k casty so whipped the head of removed the screw an bolted the head back down and walla mint as!!!!! what else are you ment to do in the middle of nowhere Its seems that not many people have thrashed the shit out of the old k series engines to know how hardy they are shiiiiit at the end of the day if your k eng dies man its only a k. my old 2k could handle handle running at top revs all day and man tht was a shitta eng they just go an go an go and say no more.
  13. Yes i agree it is fucking dumb but like i said if it a mint engine you wouldnt do it. as for no air filter unless you live on a dirt road it be sweet for fucks sake were talkin bout a 4k here I agree about puttin a decent eng in it I got a 2tgeu with loom and comp sittin in my shed with a turbo manifold destined to go to my mate in palme to give him spares for his 2tgeu dx 2dor wag which i fabed the mount pedistools for it will be nuts but the old 3t is usually the best way to go as you can source bolt in parts to fit it without welding or modifying .
  14. somthing tht i discovered and correct me if im wrong, I you can find an old 3k with the cast head out of the earlier models such as ke10 and ke20 these had larger ports and better cams as there was no emisions rules if you can find one of these heads get it cleaned up and put it and the cam on your engine you chould get better performance from it. I know this will sound boganish but its been common practice between my peers and i for years to just remove the air filter all together as we are just talkin about a standy as 4k and these engines are very very hardy. They also run better when they are low on oil but wouldnt trust doing this if you have a mint runner. So to conclude put on a casty 3k head and cam some extractors and freeflow exhaust and throw away the aircleaner and should be all go If you want more power than that then you will have to consider all the above suggestions.
