  1. Sweet as. That stumble at low throttle is caused by the butterfly opening, taking in air and not yet getting fuel from the progression holes. Needs that 4th hole drilled directly over the butterfly to fix. It’s like a 1mm hole drilled in exactly the right spot. My 130tc has this exact issue and I’ve been meaning to get it drilled for ages.
  2. Sweet cheers man, do you have a spare seat? Mine didn’t come with one and we’re looking to use the OG base and reshape it and cover it. Your build is looking sick too btw, keen to see more about the Motogadget stuff as that stuff looks tidy.
  3. Me and a mate had been looking for new project bike for a while, trawling through Trademe and FB marketplace. This CB350 popped up as an unfinished project that the previous owner wanted move on to fund some of his other Honda classics. Perfect tank shape and in the condition where we don't feel bad chopping and changing a classic. As all good projects start, I picked up the bike in pieces, threw it in the back of the ute and raced home to check it out in detail. Did a loose mockup and pretty much everything thing is there. The previous owner painted the frame which was a nice surprise, however for some reason cut off all the mounts and tabs for the the seat and foot rests/side stands. Plan is to cafe racer it, clipons, rear sets and wider rims. Loving the OG tank colour so the blue will stay, we'll add the Honda wing badges like on my CB250k. Decided to strip the whole thing down in order to get everything vapour blasted, pulled down the motor and that looked like it had been recently rebuilt as it has oversized pistons and the hone on the bore was fresh. The lower front engine mount had snapped off so we split the cases and will be sourcing a new one. Also got started on the rims; Pretty old and rust so we’ll start again with these. Current status:
  4. @azzurro Are they Weber 152 made in Spain versions? if they are it’ll be the progression holes causing the issue. Or lack of, there should be 4 or 5 holes but the 152’s only have 3. The 4th hole should be directly over the butterfly. Have a look how many holes it has, they are under the bigger brass flat head cap screw on the engine side. One for each throttle body. Edit, like this:
  5. Jeeezzz, its been a while for this car!! Finally got time to work on this after 5 years of sitting in a garage. Did all the basics today, changed fluids, new hoses, new filters and got her running. Chucked some new rims on, thoughts? I think I'll like them more when I convert the bumpers and trim to black. Took it for a quick drive and fk me there a lot to fix on this car!!! Motor pulls strong however the car feels like its on skates, darting all over the road. A quick look at the suspension and literally the rubber bushings have dry rotted away. Pulled the rear arms and shocks out so I can get them rebuilt. Anyways heres a pic of its current guise
  6. Hondas been leaking fuel for about a year now from the fuel tank, it was a slow seep which was annoying and was mostly soaked up by the foam in the seat which stunk of gas. Also the pipes which share each side of the tank were blocked and leaking. Basically this tank has had hack after hack fixes with solider, JB weld etc... Safety first, pumped exhaust through it for about 15mins to get rid of the petrol fumes. Drilled out the old share pipes and mounted the threaded steel boss. Leak came from under the mount bracket, didn’t have a spot weld bit so just went hard with a normal bit. Pretty mank under the bracket, no paint in there so wasn’t a surprise it rusted. Welded up the holes but I reckon I’ll get the rest Tig welded as my Mig isn’t great at sealing up fuel tight. Decided on painting it, need to strip the POR15 liner as it was fkd and coming apart in the tank so I covered the whole tank inside and out in stripper. Will be repainted in black 2k
  7. I scored some free BRZ seats to fit into the Punto however the BRZ seat mounts are a little wider than the Puntos Are there any recommendations for anyone who could cutty cutty weldy weldy to make the mounts fit?
  8. Took this over to Waiheke for NYs. Went for a decent ride to the back of the island with the mrs, Honda ran like champ, handled the gravel road no worries. Got to Man O War bay and had lunch, sick spot to chill next to the water.
  9. Great success on the water this weekend! Did a couple of laps around the bay, initially she was running rich so dropped the needle down in the carb. Power picked up a lot after leaning the mixture. Goes mint for a little engine, had three guys in the dinghy and towing two other guys in Kayaks, moved along ok. Went out to a fishing spot and caught a Kawai. Smoked it for dinner. Success.
  10. Gave the new paint a light cut and metal polished the chrome down pipes. All ready for it’s first test run this weekend! Next is to get a number 2 carb needle to convert it from 1:10 to 1:25 oil/petrol mix. And a new seal for the prop. and one last pic of the prop
  11. Thanks fellas, they are really cheap on trademe, people seem to leave them for ages in the back of a garage then sell them in unknown condition. Its hectic in the wheelie bin at full throttle haha Runs a hearty 10:1 oil petrol mix so I got some Ipone two stroke oil, smells like strawberry when it’s running which adds to the lol factor. Is this the next summer OS event; Seagull dinghy races? I can picture the spanies now. Edit: Video inspo!!
  12. Cheers, the dinghy is two tone white and orange, hence the orange grips for the Seagull. Forgot to mention these things are insanely well built, probably why they have a reputation for reliability. A lot of it’s made from Brass; the fuel tank, the whole exhaust pipe, pins, nuts and bolts etc... Will test it out this weekend so standby for updates Here’s a couple more pics!
  13. After finding out it ran pretty decent I decided to strip it down. Didn’t take any pics but the water galleries around the cylinder were caked with rust flakes. Managed to remove it all with a screw driver. Looked like old coffee grinds coming out of it. So much! Also pulled apart the gearbox down by the propeller which had a 50/50 mix of grease and water in it. Replaced it with gear oil and closed it back up. Made a new throttle cable from a bit of cable I had sitting round. Oh yeah paint.. Lol Got some blue 2k base coat and added holographic glitter to the clear for a laugh. Looks like a 90’s show car but shines mint in the sun. Wasnt even sure the glitter would come through the gun but yip it definitely did!
  14. Picked up an old British Seagull outboard off Trademe a couple of weeks ago. This is a 1961 Century 100 model which packs about 4hp. Pretty rough condition dents in the tank and surface rust everywhere. First step was to get it running as it had sat for many years and the sellers weren’t sure if it worked. Got it home, added fuel and first pull it sat there idling like a champ. Stoked! Perfect for cruising round in the dingy for summer. Next is paint....
  15. Yeah man if I could borrow the kit that would be awesome! I’ll send you a PM Thanks!
  16. Mate, where did you get the shims and shim tool from? I’ve just put a new cam in the Punto and need to do the clearances.
  17. Man thats sweet, love the factory colours on the tank.
  18. Yeah its been a while, last time we met was when I had Fiat Strada in the oldschool show n shine at the 4nRotary nationals.
  19. Dropped the bike off to VTNZ Avondale on Saturday morning for its cert and WOF. Think it was $250 for the initial cert then another $90 for the 6 months rego a plate. Good news is that it passed first go!! Got the bike back on Tuesday fitted the new plates and cruised down to the last Motosocial Auckland event of the year in the CBD. Had a quick chat with some of the oldschool.co.ng guys there. All in all a pretty smooth process to register the bike, only had to have ID, brake cert ($95 from Carbon Garage, good guys there, A+ would trade again) and my old UK V5 rego form. When it cleared border inspection they also registered the frame number into the NZTA system which apparently makes the process easier too. Stoked. Rode through Pt Chev to my mates place and saw @sheepers drive past in his blue Celica. I waved lol. Went for a sweet ANZAC ride with some mates who also brought their motorbikes back from when they lived in London. Epic to ride with them again in NZ this time. Hit mission bay, rode into the CBD, through Ponsonby to Kingsland stopping off at Garage Project for some later afternoon beers.
  20. Finally arrived in NZ! Picked it up from the shipping agent today, arrived in perfect condition after traveling on a ship for 6 weeks going through the Panama canal. Got it home unpacked it. Started straight up and seems all good. Going to go to VTNZ to get it registered this weekend!
  21. Honda is coming back to New Zealand! Scored a shipping crate from the local Honda Dealership for £25 stoked. Arrives in early April.
  22. Thats a sweet clock, I really like to the steampunk kinda theme, suits nixies a lot I reckon. I was debating whether to get the side view tubes but the top view IN-12a's are so cheap. https://www.pvelectronics.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=140 I'm not a huge fan of LED's under the tubes either, mines currently set to 2 out of 9 in brightness settings just so there is a bit of orange but not taking away from the tubes neon glow. Next step for me is to build the case, thinking vintage/steampunk wood with brass buttons.
  23. Awesome nixie projects man! Just completed this kit from PV Electronics over here in the UK. First clock build which was good fun, so much soldering but totally worth it as the neon glow from the nixie tube looks epic in real life. I'm hooked! The tubes are IN-12a's which have a 18mm digit height. Its also running orange led's behind the tubes, had the option to run a variety of colours but felt orange suits.
