Have welded up a few wholes; New disks Vs Old New AP Calipers and old Installed the central locking on all 4 doors so once iv made sure thats working reliably with the alarm will shave the drivers lock also and hook up to the alarm just need to come up with a contingancy plan for if the battery goes flat any ideas? Welded up the broken drivers seat rough as but will hopefully pass a WOF and do for now untill i can get new seats certed along with everything else. Got a new shinney wheel and boss kit replaced the mk2 boot poper swith with one i picked up from J Car ... its a key spring loaded critter that seems to do the trick. Fixed my window winders with new handles (they had broken off)
  3. Picked up some Austin Princess 4 Pot Brake Calipers and vented Ford Capri Discs on TM should help her stop better when the 2L conversion is done. Also picked up a Central Locking Kit that hopefully i will be able to get to work then wire up to an alarm and shave all the door locks. and got a battery protector that is supposed to cut of the power suply to your electronics if your battery is running to close to flat.
  4. Got the springs back today and stuck them back on the car and she sits faily low now so this weekends job is to try pump the front guards so the wheels can turn.
  5. Spent weekend working on car, pumped the rear guards with the Fender Reforming Tool, ended up using it as more of a dolly to hammer against. Removed petrol tank and welded up the reverse light holes, badge wholes and trim wholes. Took front struts out and dropped the spring off to be compressed. Painted front sway bar and fixed a little rust on one of the guards.
  6. Hey esKYmo i just PM'd you, perhaps i could go down to his workshop sometime? whats the address/is he oped 5days week? i live in the hutt near Kelson so could probably pop around sometime 4 quote. Cheers mate.
  7. Have just purchased a Fender Reforming Tool on TM, it will be up for hire once it arives and iv used it myself Just thought i would let you guys no in advance about it to save someone possably buying one. Think i remember reading somewhere about people being interested in using one of these. * Universal Type to Fit 3, 4 & 5 Stud Hubs (connects to Wheel Hub Studs)
  8. Mag n Turbo gave me a quote for 13x7 superlites without tyres at $1275 from memory...not cheap
  9. If i listed plans there would need to be amendments to every second post!
  10. New Wheels (13X7 Performance Superlites with 185/60 Directionals fitted), lowering blockes put in (Cheers gazza), rust removed from rear left guard and replaced with new steel (Cheers Nick / Mk1mad), new wood grain stearing wheel and boss kit fittted, added a boot poper and shaved over wholes yesterday. (Rice cannon came with the car shouldn't be there for muct longer)
  11. haha yeah gaz and i just got them fitted to get an idea of what tyres to run and yeah didnt help at all really, they just went like a baloon!
  12. I have also come across this problem today, was test fitting my 13x7's with the factory short nuts and i could get the nut to do about 4 turns untill hand tightness but then i couldnt actually fit my nut tightner thing e around the nuts hmm So am looking at getting some nuts this fella is selling on TM (pic below), hopefully they will work what you guys think? still havn't worked out if the 'Acorn Lug Nut' would be long enough or if i need to get the longer 'Mag Nut'. Could possably also get a full set of lock nuts that tighten from the end. (tyres fitted are only as test fit to get an idea looking for something like 185 50 13)
  13. Sounds like a plan stan ... Mean got my own project manager .. Cheers gaz
  14. Will sideys mean that the break booster will have to be modified so they fit?
  15. Who can recomend a good garage in Wellington or the huut to take oldschools cars?. One that takes into account that it is an old car and the breaks n what not arn't going to perform like a modern car. I usually take my subaru into LTSA for WOF and they are pritty good letting me through with fucked shocks from lowering car n what not, but im not sure what they would be like with an older car? anyone work in a workshop that does WOF test? .... ps do you need reverse to pass a WOF
  16. Anyone use adaptors like these on there cars? ... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=92895823 whats your thoughs? would they space out your rims to much that they wouldn't fit under the guards/you would have to do some big flares? or is it better to just to spend a bit more on mags that have a direct fit to your stud patern.
  17. oh jez guys .... blame it on Gaz good one admin
  18. Did any of u muppets actually take a photo of em all lined up?...Coss i know i 4got too
  19. The toolshed sells em and i think i heard someone say mitre ten also has them. cost something like 35 bucks and that will give you about 40 min welding time.
  20. We should have a cruze in the hutt some thursday nite
  21. whos got the photo of em all lined up at the warehouse? (i was the fella with the skubaroo, the esky doesnt have reverse at the mo and didnt wanna get stuck and feel like a dick)
  22. Yup probably the same car its deffinatly got a big ass rice cannon on the back, had to listen too the bloody thing all the way from Auckland to Welly, its in reasonable condition for 500 buckaroos just the right hand guard, and box that need some attention really, few minor dents. The aim is to give er a full re spray, drop er on some mags, change to manual and it should then be a fun daily driver.
