There's 2 types of K24, can't remember which is which but there's a 20-40hp difference IIRC. Wiki will probs tell you. While they are a tall engine, you can fit one under the bonnet of an MX5 with sump mods. Do starlets use steering box or R&P? R&P could cause clearance issues.

You should put a K20 in this. Keep it 'K' series.
