    PAINT THREAD

Seems there's a few people in the know about paint on here. Would anyone be willing to help me get some colour matched paint? I only need a small amount as I just want to use my air brush to touch up a couple interior pieces that got scratched up during recent repairs and maybe paint a couple small pieces. Autolink told me "too hard" and another panel beater told me "We only deal in 2k paints and it's illegal to sell any to you". What a load of shit as I currently use 2k clear to paint my car models. I have a plastic trim piece which is coloured plastic (textured, but the underside is smooth) and a painted metal trim piece (textured) to take samples from. Oh, and I'm in Hamilton.
  2. Please excuse my ignorance. I don't know how this canbus stuff works, BUT I have successfully moved my arduino code directly to an ATtiny45 chip and it ran without issues, all contained on a single chip. Can get them in 2, 4 and 8 KB variants if I remember corectly (ATtiny25, ATtiny45, ATtiny85). http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/Atmel-2586-AVR-8-bit-Microcontroller-ATtiny25-ATtiny45-ATtiny85_Datasheet-Summary.pdf Cheap as chips: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/20PCS-LOT-ATTINY45-20SU-TINY45-20SU-SOP8-ATTINY45/32809882098.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.23.1f1d630cWRA1XH&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_4_10152_10151_10065_10344_10068_10342_10547_10343_5722611_10340_10548_10341_10696_5722911_5722811_5722711_10084_10083_10618_10307_10059_100031_10103_10624_10623_10622_10621_10620_5722511,searchweb201603_2,ppcSwitch_5&algo_expid=c4c137fb-0e6a-4392-9b17-43858c127174-3&algo_pvid=c4c137fb-0e6a-4392-9b17-43858c127174&priceBeautifyAB=0 Please let me know if this helps, or if I'm completely off track!

  4. Cool pics. I'd upload some, but mine are much the same as what you have taken already. Was a pretty cool event, actually. Worth the long drive. There was even another car the same colour and with the same interior as mine there which was pretty cool to see and was good to meet and have a yarn to @Avenga. Such a Cool dude.
  5. Currently working on intake manifold flange to fit Mitsubishi G63B engine with the intention of mounting twin sidedraught webers. I'll post the file up here when finished, but it currently looks like this:
  6. +1 for Fusion 360, but I'm not keen on the interface so I'm using Autodesk Inventor 2018 instead. (Anything's free on the internet these days :P)
  7. Took some pics from my manual this morning. Is this the info you're after?
  8. I have a workshop manual for 4G3x series engines, so I'll let you know if it has the 4g36 in it in case you need anything else
  9. We have a room and bed that's not being used in Hamilton. PM me if you still need.
  10. In regards to your problem with pressing the button and the action happening multiple times, does this help any? https://www.arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/Debounce
  11. So, it appears that the sensor wire for the TPS just started reading correctly one day and has been fine since, so can confirm with an adapter plate made, a TPS from a ~2003 Mazda will fit once the connector for the Mazda TPS is soldered on to the old loom. Now to crack on and try to sort this horrible misfire which is got so bad now I don't want to drive the car! Will start with deleting cat and replacing fuel filter. Thanks for all the advice so far guys
  12. Have you had a look at this guy? He seems to know what he's doing
  13. I thought this initially too, but you can get Arduino copies cheap as chips from Ali Express, like just a few dollars and they do the job just as good as the original. It's also possible, once you have tested your project with Arduino and breadboard to then copy the code over to a smaller chip which can be run standalone in a project which frees up the Arduino for use on other projects. I bought a few of these chips but I can't remember the part number right now. If you're interested, let me know and I'll find out the details. The programming part is also pretty simple if you've done C/C++ before as it's pretty identical from what I've seen, so that shouldn't be a problem. Just my 2c as I have a couple of Arduino's and I've played around with them a bit, but I've not really used it for anything, in particular lol.
  14. I'm really getting in to 3D modelling at the moment. If anyone has anything relatively simple I could model up for them, I'd be keen for the practise! Will probably need drawings to work from, though.
  15. So I've got some new parts and replaced some stuff since I posted last, but I'm still facing more issues. Argh! Mass Air Flow Sensor (Part: E5T00172) which I managed to find on Ebay. I also got the below from rockauto.com as they were less than 1/3 what I would have to pay from NZ. I've only fitted MAS and the oxygen sensor so far... Part Number Part Type Price EA Core EA Quantity Total 1987 CHRYSLER CONQUEST 2.6L 156cid L4 Turbocharged STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS AX7 Air Intake / Charge Temperature Sensor AU$ 26.86 AU$ 0.00 1 AU$ 26.86 1987 MITSUBISHI CORDIA 1.8L L4 Turbocharged STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS TX32 Temperature Sender / Sensor AU$ 19.33 AU$ 0.00 1 AU$ 19.33 1987 MITSUBISHI STARION 2.6L L4 Turbocharged DENSO 2341052 (234-1052) Oxygen (O2) Sensor AU$ 26.41 AU$ 0.00 1 AU$ 26.41 Shipping Economy (Consolidated) AU$ 19.02 Carrier may collect duty and tax upon delivery &nbsp Order Total AU$ 91.62 I have a TPS conversion kit from a Mazda on it's way too, but I'll post about that once I receive it. So, I've replaced the MAS and O2 sensor and this is where I'm still running in to problems. After replacing the two sensors, I used K&N filter cleaning kit and cleaned the foam air filter and re-oiled, cleared the codes and took the car for a drive to get it nice and hot. Once I finished driving I parked it up and checked the codes again and I still had a code for the TPS and ISC, but the MAS code was gone, YAY! But, I checked the codes again today after changing the O2 sensor and the code for the MAS is back and the O2 is not going away once the engine is running like it did before. Does anyone have any input on this? Could the air flow sensor have failed already, or do I need to wait for the new TPS before jumping to conclusions? Any help or input on this is much appreciated. Thanks.
  16. My Lancer has power steering. Is there anything I can try to check on mine to help?
  17. Yeah, they have the Chrysler Conquest which is a Starion, but I'm not 100% on parts compatibility between the 2.6L and 1.8L engines
  18. That'd be great @0R10N! I'll PM you my number now. I have looked at Rockauto and they have a listing for TPS for a Cordia which will probably end up costing about $300! Can't find any O2 sensors unfortunately: http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=943165&cc=1205323&jsn=440 @Transom, I didn't even think to look on Ali Express actually. Just had a look now and they've only got this which I can't be sure is correct as I don't have the part numbers but it may work? I'll keep my eye out on there for automotive goodies
  19. So any O2 sensor will do? They don't have different specs? Also, I think I've found the part number for the TPS and I've searched online and don't really feel comfortable paying ~$300 for what seems to be, just a potentiometer! 1987 Cordia TPS - MD614075 http://www.ebay.com/itm/MITSUBISHI-OEM-86-88-Tredia-Throttle-Position-Sensor-TPS-MD614075-/262721312235?fits=Make%3AMitsubishi|Model%3AMirage&hash=item3d2b6915eb:g:2sQAAOSwo4pYmaxp&vxp=mtr
  20. I've managed to find a brand new OEM Mass Air Flow Sensor so I've bought that. Now I need the oxygen sensor - Is anyone able to assist in sourcing this? I've called BNT New Lynn as OR1ON suggested, but they seemed confused and never called me back. I also can't get any voltage out of my TPS sensor, although the impedance across 2 of the pins changes when I rotate the arm, but doesn't appear to be as smooth as I expect. Is anyone also able to assist in sourcing this? Researching online suggests I can use a TPS from a ~2003 Mazda 323/626/Familiar (Just have o re-wire to fit the Mitsubishi plug), and gives better performance, so this may be even better, but I'm unsure where to go to try and find one, except online, but I don't want to do that and find I pad 3x more than I would have if I got locally. That makes sense as multiple people here are advising there is a common issue with the injectors, but I'm not getting a code for that, so I'll check that after replacing these sensors. I know for a fact the connectors on my injectors are broken so they do need attention!
  21. So I managed to pull the fault codes off it today and this was the result: 1. O2 sensor (This only came up once each time I started the engine, which is weird because the other codes were persistent) 3. Mass Air Flow Sensor 5. Throttle Position Sensor Tomorrow I'm going to have another look at the air flow sensor and see if I can clean it better and also attempt to adjust/reset the TPS and hopefully soon I'll get a pipe to put in place of the cat, so I can eliminate that and see where I end up. Hopefully the Air flow sensor is okay as it seems impossible to find one of those!
  22. Yeah, good ideas. I'll do a compression test when I can get access to a tester and I'll check my plugs are working, too. Might as well rule them out since it's easy!
