  1. Bmw B58 will be a goodie, it’s in pretty much every platform they make. Just wait for the rest of the car to depreciate around it. 10 years old in 2025. What’s peak depreciation? 15 years? Edit wow pretty light too - 139kg. The 8hp trans they are attached to looks like a really well supported thing too. https://youtu.be/n5hSrXZ18cA?si=sE7ImVMGbkfQbYox
  2. I’ve got a much smaller but very stout homebuilt compressor and that’s got the flexi braided hoses. Has lasted well and it’s worked pretty hard for me at times. the guy who built it also added a large pc fan to the compressor head to draw air across it. It’s an IR head so has quite nice castings so I’m sure the air flow helps keep it happy
  3. I remember pulling apart the motor that was in the ride on mower I bought off @Nominal a number of years ago and thought the plastic components were surprising and you can’t help but think that can’t be good, but in saying that the reason that motor had given itself an upper cut was due to a metal (cheese) part giving way. I think if any of the plastic gave up it wouldn’t run but unlikely it would have ventilated the case either. Was the little pivot arm 757 in this diagram that let go.
  4. should have left a magnet that doesn’t go rusty in your pocket.
  5. Did you buy it? Anywhere in Lower Hutt is not a Problem as long as minimal stabbage.
  6. I just want to make sure I'm not signing up to get stabbed
  7. I think it was Swiss! I think I still have pics of that on my hdd at home. That car contributed to a few OS builds I'm glad you're still getting use out of the parts, and the wheels. I will need to come for a hoon in the Carina when it's running.
  8. Probably passes emissions rather than makes spices
  9. What do spicy three cylinder bikes do? Street triple R and brutale sound noice and go like stink
  10. Unsure if it has the potential to do it but any concern of belt breaking or partially failing and ripping the fittings out or snapping them off?
  11. Your work is always impressive but damn this is next level - I want this car.
  12. Concur with Zep, my old man did this for his Austin 7
  13. It could be kinda cool to run a factory tortoise shell engine cover with the doort trumpets sticking out
  14. I’ve had mixed reception depending on which surly fuckwit is minding the joint. usually just ask my mate to take it and dump it and my old work as he’s the least surly fuckwit of the lot.
  15. Is it this one? https://www.instagram.com/p/BZp9HL8jLFJ/?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== https://www.instagram.com/p/BV3EF4mjOF_/?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==
  16. Some good vids on this channel of process https://youtube.com/@shiroh73
  17. When I sold the 2gr from our blade that was killer by a bus, the guy who bought it remarked how hard it was to find a motor that wasn’t 600,000km ex taxi motor from aus. He had a camshaft snap in his harrier and it lunched itself which sounds like bad luck.
  18. Lots of GR content in amongst this supercharged Mr2 build if you hadn't already seen it - https://www.mr2.org.nz/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=13904
  19. I had a problem in my mr2 where the motor would hunt, it was small port head so was setup for power steering. Didn’t have power steering in the aw11 so had the idle up circuit looped. this made it really whack and the fix was to block both off instead of loop. Unsure if this is your scenario.
