  1. isn't it basically coming from next door?
  2. yup an adapter between the oil pressure sender and case, the return is plumbed in to the top of the extra capacity sump.... Your user name indicates you have your own turbo beetle? you should start a build thread
  3. Engine is back in the hole... But a man smarter than me has pointed out I have the wrong type of pressure regulator, which will explain the over fueling I have after a period on boost... By happy co-incidence I found Weber Specialties stand and the speed show and had a chat to Murray who tells me they have a regulator designed specifically for blow through twin carb
  4. looks very similar to the cb kit that I use ( http://www.cbperformance.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=7301T ) though I am only carb'd (fuel injection one day though)
  5. 3rd time the king pins have been done within 12 months? you must be on a first name basis with your alignment guy...
  6. I'm not going to make this now, please don't wait for me Unfortunately there is a work thing I can't get out of despite resigning...
  7. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/12V-Car-Heater-Hair-Dryer-Demister-Defroster-Cooling-Fan-Folding-Handle-Van/32256353775.html
  8. no heaters, no room for heater boxes and no outlets on my fan shroud... it's not my daily so I'm not too worried... funny you should ask, I was thinking about it this morning as I turned on my demister on the drive to work...
  9. cheers for the compliments... I got it from Qualitat years ago... it's just a Wolfsburg West repro https://www.wolfsburgwest.com/wolfsburg_new/mirrors/beetle_mirror.cfm?type=1 though they're great quality better than a lot of repro bright work (my bumpers for example)
  10. yeah, those have always been intended to be the 'track' wheels and they were ridiculously cheap... I will figure out the narrowing of the trailing arms/axles once it's back on the road so I can have my old rims back on it... totally stoked with the tinware should tidy the engine bay up a lot, especially if I spend a couple of ours on the wiring...
  11. and the coloured in tinware still fits the engine
  12. at least the new wheels fit (the dust caps on the front wheels do need trimming)
  13. is that going to be wearing stock guards?
  14. imagine if I ended up with less dish on the rear than the front!!!
  15. Yeah, that's not the best how to that I have seen Interesting he has a jig. Haven't spoken to John for many years does he still muck around with VW's?
  16. purchased? the cost would probably more than offset the cost of the data via the cell network... when I did a road trip through thailand last year, I took my phone and my tablet purchased a local data sim put that in the tablet and then set up a wifi network for my phone to peer to. That way I had dirt cheap data and my NZ number remained functional for calls & texts
  17. I'm not a fan of widened guards on vws' would prefer narrow rims before that the BRM's I have should fit (I'll know for sure once I get some tires for them), and I'll use those until I sort out narrowed control arms somehow
  18. some research I should have done ages ago... rear track early swing axle 1288mm rear track late swing axle 1300mm rear track irs 1349mm the new drums also add 2mm to the track, but bottom line is the rear track is 63mm greater than it used to be... beetle rear control arm I have heard rumors that clever men have been able to narrow these 25/29mm between the bearing carrier and the spring plate mount so that might be a possibility in the future..
  19. ^ this is true, vw guys are just odd and are slowly developing our own language
  20. you mean 3 adjustable spanners
