  1. so i think i might have all the rust on the drivers underside done. rear guard......not bad at all and the arra at the front under the head light...made it a differant shape to factory but with 2 small holes it should drain better
  2. time for the driver side sill....starting with the front end... thought it would have been a small patch but by the time i found clean metal it got bigger. then the rear of the sill (didnt see any rust but it needed straightening and i suspected a patch over rust)
  3. very good point...and highly doable at this point. cheers mate
  4. wow that is a pretty basic test but i would imagine it would give you all the info you need. as per my comment to Hurmeez^ the easiest way at this point would be 2 small support brackets further back welded to the chassis cheers man
  5. i did think that but it would have to come off the spit...motor and box back in ...cut mounts to fit further back and weld them up...(still an option as i want them back in at somepoint to do the tunnel and a few other things. or i could make 2 small support back and weld them to the chassis further back ....now
  6. please mate...make a suggestion make some support mounts further back?
  7. started on the other half of the drivers side floor/jacking point straitened the jack mount and put back on. then there is this bit of the jacking point....it was stuffed this is all i could keep so made this and this is it all done.....time to move on to another bit
  8. started doing what i believe to be the worst/most difficult rust are ...2 hours so far and about half way done.
  9. i relieved the boot of the wheel well.(was in pretty good condition but i have plans) i also plan to rebuild most of the front end panels (there is some rust ) but i want to repackage the radiator ,fan and oil cooler so its all under the slam panel i removed ...hammered and dolled them and replaced ..even had some seam sealer on the shelf... .
  10. thought while its in its side ill stitch and gusset the upper arm mounts all so took the time to fit the stuffed gearbox mount threads.
  11. so the plan is to metal prep and POR15 all the good bits till im left with just the repair ares.
  12. the rust issue wasn't as bad as i thought it would be.....there were no surprises at all... not bad for a car that was destined for scrap yard
  13. well its back from blasting ....and good news .....its not a pile of dust

  18. @johnny.race that's a one a huge mobile grunter. I've built mine over the past year. 340l huge pump.4" bore 4"stroke ( but unsure of the cfm and 2 x3hp single phase motors. works well and fills the tank in no time. but still undecided if I want to try one or just pay to have it blasted.. she not pretty but does the job ..and also not in my garage ...in a she behind it plumbed threw the wall lol
  19. if you don't mind me asking @johnny.race how big is your 3ph compressor?
  20. cheers for that but not wanting to hire or change my compressor . just want to see if i can work with what I have
  21. yeah seen people say 80psi other say 120psi and open the bottom valve just a bit. I've got a big compressor so that's done.... I'm other thought was if it worked well I would by another small shed and turn that into a sand blasting room
  22. yeah I have read they block with out sufficient air...propper water trap at blaster and the old shit hand valve. but cheers I after peoples experience with them.
