The tig torch is extra.
Scratch start isn't the easiest way to learn tig but better than nothing.

Kawasaki H2 engine would be good for a light car - 154kW, 58kg.
Not sure what it would take to get it up to 240kW H2R spec?

Looks like they found some radiators down the back of the old Morris minor factory. I always loved bsas but the only thing I like on that is the badge.

I think if you wanted to go fast, a 3kw motor on the back with the 1kw on front would get you close enough but not sure if the battery would be happy delivering that many amps.
Keen to hear how it goes around the hills and dirt tracks.

Looks good mate. Let's do a midnight run over the hill.
I'll have a look but I don't think I have any sump pans (lots of stuff got stolen for scrap in porirua) and if I do it will be ea81, but maybe they're the same.

While painful to weld upside down, inside a boot, I never had any issues with plain wire + gas. I wouldn't do that with flux wire unless I was going to drink a lot of milk
I was welding 12mm steel vertical and upside down, it's not like the gasless stuff or plain wire with gas. It doesn't seem to sag or drip.

Nah 20 years is a new car that only needs a wof once a year.

When I was at tech, some rep brought in a roll of Flux core wire that also used shielding gas. It's party trick was the beautiful welds in all positions even with me holding the torch.
Anyone know this voodoo wire?

ALSO, has anyone had good results sanding/polishing scratches out of clear plastic windscreens or the like?
I once had a summer job at a powerboat place and spent a fair bit of time polishing scratches out of windscreens with brasso.
It takes ages and for deep scratches you're better off starting with wet&dry but the results are good.

The torque, smoothness and quietness make them all seem like luxury cars.

The two stroke tuner's handbook by Gordon Jennings is a good read too.
It's pretty addictive. Carburation gets pretty tricky if you want to be able to pootle around slow and also have a good top end.

Just the two long ones that held it together and the two that held the brushes plate on. The little bearing cap seems to be spot welded.
I made a shim for the top of the worn negative brush to get the digger back on the road but even after a good clean the solenoid doesn't always engage properly. $200 new one from America is looking like a good option.

I wanted honda beat when I was 15. My brother took the piss out of me, so instead I rebuilt his puch when he destroyed the piston and bought a Vespa. The puch had two gears, 1 was too low and 2 was too high. It wouldn't start when it was hot. The brakes didn't really work, but I only ran into the back of a bus once. I loved it.

It's an inverter, I don't think I've seen a multiprocess transformer welder. MIG needs constant voltage and TIG constant current and that's easier with electronic trickery.

Not sure if it's in my head, but I seem to get cleaner welds and less spatter from inverter mig.
They even weld nice and clean on pure co2, I'm currently using argoshield but it doesn't seem any better whereas transformer migs seem to weld cleaner with argon in the mix.
You don't have the huge inrush current needed to saturate the transformer core with electromagnetics either so they're easier to run off generator or inverter.

LFP batteries are supposedly going to halve in price this year. It shouldn't be long til EVs become cheaper than petrol cars.

Electric house truck/bus would be good. Cover the roof in PV panels, drive until the battery runs out, park up until it's full again.
