  1. if wiring is correct is internal regulator not working so charge light stays on??
  2. Or mx5 head on an a15 to be really different http://datsun1200.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=61554&viewmode=flat&order=ASC&type=&mode=0&start=0
  3. http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawiki/index.php?title=Hyundai_EFI hyundai uses same manifold
  4. Mitsubishi fuel injection manifold has been used on an a15 with a bit of porting work. A15 head fits on a12, with bigger flowing head, then use factory manifold with your own bits
  5. What about a datsun a12 or a15 with a turbo?? Small, cheap and take a turbo on a standard bottom end around 120-130 horse power?? And aren’t they close to bolting in??
  6. Under car surge tanks ok?? Can't find a definitive yes/no in the stuff I've searched so far
  7. Yeah cheers, I was lucky enough for it to come with a shortened and balanced driveshaft so that was lucky
  8. If replacing diff in a 1982 b310 datsun sunny with a diff out of a 1982 s110 silvia, it uses all same mounting points, same suspension arms, brake lines, brake pedal, same width and master cylinder so no physical modification to any of the brake and suspension system, but changes from drum rear to disk brake rear would this need a cert (i think it probably would but thought i better confirm first)
  9. how did they even know it was there??
  10. would a better option be going bigger, as in a standard 5k etc??
  11. some of the bits in here might give you a few idea's?? http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawiki/index.php?title=Category:Suspension_Modifications early nissan pulsar and volkswagon golf as mentioned above. You not wanting to have to worry about cert??
  12. 4x114.3 is the pcd. If you do go a15 theres a hyundai fuel injecton manifold which just about lines up as an idea for future upgrades?? (thats if you dont just build your own obviously!!) haha beaten to it ^^^
  13. ebay.com.au, bought some last week
  14. talked to my certifier today, (i'm doing an a12 to a15 swap also) and he definately wants a driveshaft hoop even though its a small power increase so lucky you bothered to do it
  15. yeah the 5 speeds came out in datsun b310 sunnys so are behind a14's and a15's. $300-500 is still the going price of box and engine (seperately) as mentioned above. A15's came out in c20 and some c22 nissan vanettes as well but the 5 speeds in these are different to the car gearboxes
  16. maddat.com.au sell brand new ute crossmembers for $270 australian as a last resort??
  17. wagons did come out with a15's and 5 speeds from factory if that helps at all
  18. and when he said he didnt have any problem with (getting) insurance, he wouldn't unless he tried to make a claim and then insurance would have a "get out of paying" card as its got an uncertified engine conversion. It would be relatively easy to keep getting wof's from your local friendly wof man, but if you ever had a ding is the major issue in my mind. Keep trying to get cert cost out of him but just be prepared to stump up yourself for your own piece of mind?? (or send the boys round after july 9th for some persuasion/nah) and reading that add would lead me to believe its all factory, as mentioned multiple times throughout the add
  19. a lot of 13's dont fit with the s13 upgrade, and it pushes the track out roughly 10mm per side (dont know if thats an issue or not). Is quite an effective upgrade though
  20. Yeah silicone is my backstop option. just trying to find out if anyone knows of any companies or actually has done this for their own car before I give up and buy a tube or two. I've got shuks to try, and I've contacted spectrum rubber in Aussie, just waiting for a reply. Hopefully someone closer to home can do it!! Cheers
  21. cool, i'll try shuks on monday. Had a go with making one, went ok but there's different heights/angles and flanges on the gasket, and because these cars rust so badly want as good a seal as possible. Cheers
  22. datsun 1200 sedan. You would think for a popular model like this with some many repro parts available it would be easy but no . Tried basis, no go. Dont really want to go down the sealant route yet because some parts of the gasket are up to 15mm's thick (thats a lot of poo!!!)
  23. anybody know of any companies that are able to make rubber/foam gaskets for tail lights etc?? taillights gaskets i need for my car aren't just flat, so to make the boot water tight i want to get some new ones made up (NLA from manufacturer). Tried basis, no go. Any other idea's?? cheers
