A bit of collecting has also resulted in a set of the coveted and rare full lens rear lights ... some front 330 doilies; a rare rotating drum light (also have the digital and normal analogue ones) 3 different sets of hubbies (prob will run some nice old dish wheels tho)... and lotsa other bits too
  2. Ok update! I have been busy emptying my bank account on Yahoo Japan and FB and have amassed a pretty big bunch of stuff that wasn’t at all necessary but then again was vital... plus the wagon is about to be finished and expected to be leaving the panel shop next week. The roof was the only part on the car with rust, it appears that condensation has built up between the cross member and the foamy shit they used as sealent and it caused 3 rust holes. Sometime in its past these were welded and whoever did it heated and cooled it too quick or whatever and it slightly buckled the roof... so the beater needed to dolly it and heat it from the inside to fix it... which meant removing a rear section of the MINT headlining... haven’t seen it but apparently it’s been removed professionally and the interior guy is confident you won’t know it’s been partly out... let’s see...

So it turns out that the JDM series 11 MS112 has a slightly longer bonnet than the Aus/Euro spec crown ... crazy.... and after tracking down the grille and the chrome after 18 months I’ve got a bonnet... ex Perth.. ah well .. it’s called escalation of commitment.. I’ve been enjoying flogging this around the eastern suburbs of Sydney ... it’s packed to the gunnels with Datsun 330 parts... I still drive this to work lol.. anyway the bastard flattens battery’s in a week whether it’s driven or not... new battery’s are fair game too... the manifold is cracked and the cold start sensor is kaput ... but I’m loath to do anything with 5ME ... which as far as 5ME’s go is actually mint... because I was waiting for.... this... 6MGE baby!... also have the chrome bumpers now just a manual conversion to go...

  7. Would like to but would never find a bench in the. Condition the originals are in.. I never checked the boot floor would be interested in putting in dickie seats if I could find some.
  8. Also I’m not a major fan of the later style Cedric grille so have this grille coming from Japan... looks great with black out in the recesses .. much better
  9. Yeah and I would have gone to the moon on them too, because once I started bidding on the bumper... I realised it has reversing lights in them so I needed the woodgrain ones too and I’d probably never find another set! I’m farkrn bad at auctions I’ll keep going just to win but these ones I really did need! Would love to find a full lens set like some had...wonder if these are just reflectors? ... wonder why they put full lens’ on base models? The rear lights on these things have always tripped me out, so small .
  10. The export spec wagons got these weird grey plastic light fillers these wagons must have the smallest lights ever! Bizzare

Rear bumpers for these wagons are hard to find..the sedans much easier.. the rear bumper I’ve got from Japan was stored for many years, it’s actually from a Gloria so has the reversing lights in the actual bumper.. it cost a fortune. lucky for me at the same time some impossibly rare woodgrain panels came up for auction in Japan and I got those too.. once again they cost a fortune but meh what are you going to do? These parts hardly exist anymore. The front bumper in the thread is coming from Tasmania and is reasonably priced especially considering it’s NOS.. harder part will be finding front over riders that can do it justice; I prob need NOS to match.
  12. Have bought a ton of stuff for this thing. A few NOS stuff too, best so far is a bumper but also some other stuff that’s impossible to get now..
  13. So finally seen the wags in the metal... and it’s mint.. surface rust only and check out the interior!! the panel beater was shocked at the lack of rust and how straight it is..
  14. Nah @kyteler the JDM higher spec wagons had the unlock on the tailgate; but none had e/windows; I’m wanting to convert mine to e/w’s

  16. Hey man you were saying you had factory central locking gear, I’ve noticed that the JDM controls apart from having auto up and down for the driver also has a “rear door lock” button. Do these JDM 330s only have central locking for the rear doors?
  17. Yeah hard to say, but they fill the guard up more and are period correct... these Hotwire rip offs look good too...
  18. Also bought this... how nuts is it? It’s a Newspaper stamp used for advertising when the cars were new...
