  1. Bolt in for all the popular classics now anyways

They want about 45k squid for a sputter in - glide away conversion from what I understand

That's converting it to automatic with a reduction box. Some places are doing bolt to morrie gearbox adaptors.

The torque is a lot more so I don't think thats a good idea, and you would want a nicer ratio diff.

People ask. But is it the same power as the original? Can I drive it in traffic.

My man an A series is like 40hp, even a light duty motor option is making 100

  2. Oh another thing I picked up from one of thesw videos was finding the point in the oil can that needs addressing. Using both hands you go around the area that pops in and out. At some point you will be able to press down on one spot and the rest won't want to pop any more

  3. Can you get fine tip for lpg? For me at least an oxy act rig is a bit much admin

Also, practice on something else first. My ute was evidently the apprentice practice rig when it was built by the workshop judging from, well everything....

The roof had been shrunk with a torch, but they fucked it up, lost most of the crown, ended up just pushing it in and carving a new one out of bog

A disk is certainly fairly amateur friendly, it doesn't shrink too much in one go sort of thing

    This was a good video

  4. I have a set of shrinking disks, they are gold, did my rooted cab roof with them and got it near perfect.

A guide coat, then zing with the disk till you see the high bits. Spray with water in a spray bottle. Hammer up low spots. Repeat

  5. Lost about 1 minute over a week, which is about as new for one of those, certainly pretty great now that it's 75 odd years old.

That honda one may work if its steel like it says.  is 6 rib but can zing the side off and weld it back on.

fd rx7 is actually smaller,  120mm so aftermarket under drive probably wont get me there,  if its a thing.

Try this, it's also got some fitment of you wanted to measure up at a wrwcker

You can also put part numbers into rockauto. Try this one too 12605677

  7. Enough of that nonsense (press the sleeve out of a GN and run the piston in that in the standard cylinder to maintain std head)

I went and picked up 2 engines tonight. One complete and supposedly running, although backfiring (has a China pod filter on it) and a second junker parts engine.

Guy had lots of other parts, but I refused, because putting decent parts on this is a slippery slope to a  100hrs paintjob

You can add "I'm going to spend a few hours on the grinder" to the list of things your wife doesn't want to hear...

Anyone keen to buy this after I put a new X axis belt on it? Machine has done probably less than five hours of work

  10. I think actually something like an lt185 has 1cm less cylinder height as well. I forget if it uses a Dr200 piston tho which has a bigger pin.

But no, I'm not doing that, I just happened to have that sitting on the shelf

  11. You can fit a gn125 cylinder with some slotting of the bolt holes apparently. (that's actually an an125 cylinder but it's almost the same) looks like there's enough meat to do that. 2 on the right are pretty close

    Is about 1cm taller
