  1. There's a lot of info in this thread if you wade through it Personally, I've avoided 2K paint (which includes epoxy primer) because of the health risks.
  2. Good news that the shakedown trip went well - a sign of a quality build.
  3. Other side. I wanted to keep the channel that the seal sits in. I bought this little bead roller ages ago, first time I've really used it, I fiddled with the wheel spacing to use it as a tipping wheel - setting the curved flange for the door skin. Worked out quite well. Checking the fit of the bottom piece on the car All done, except for the welding, grinding, painting, and refitting............
  4. WOF man told me at the last WOF (back in May) that I needed to fix the rust in the back door. Not really sure it should have been a fail point, but oh well. Only a few small holes. Kind of weird where they are too. Seemed easier to remove the door, had some hassles with the hinge attachments, but got it off. Hinges are welded to the door itself. Cut cut cut Patch for the inner frame
  5. Usually the proportioning valve is only in the rear brake line, and won't affect the fronts.
  6. That's a pretty big list to deal with. Hopefully there is something obvious with the brakes.
  7. 102=100 when building a trailer.
  8. Looking very nice. Will you need to get those front arms crack tested? If so do it before paint/powdercoating.
  9. This is in a couple of weeks too Manawatu Vintage Car Club Swap Meet Manfeild, South Street, Feilding, Feilding and District Saturday 6 October 2018 7:00am – 3:00pm
  10. The TIG I bought came with a foot pedal fitted. As a learner I found it hard to judge how many amps I was giving it (can't look at the machine display in the middle of a weld). I took it off and went back to the trigger switch the first time I needed to weld away from the bench - can't really use a pedal when you are kneeling on the floor welding a chassis tab.
  11. I'm out - going to the mountain tomorrow /Horopito if the weather turns bad.
  12. I'll have you know I've been working on this project for 20 years, and I'm not about to slow down now!
  13. Been dinking away on this from time to time. Bought a home made folder on TM, should be better than angle iron and a hammer. Welded it onto this trolley for mobility. It uses air rams to clamp the top. Cleaned up the bare metal (again) on the firewall and inner guards. and splattered some primer on it. Mainly to stop the rust that collects over time. There is still welding need for the inner guards but I'll just clean that off and re-prime as needed. Quite a bit of time has gone into fixing this after Hanmer, the grille needed to come out to be glued back together which meant removing the slam panel. I stripped and repainted that while it was out. A couple of clip-on nuts (what's the right term) dropped out of the inner guard panel, included one that holds the bonnet bumper stop. Getting these back in meant removing the guard, which in turn needs the front bumper removed. Kinda wished I hadn't used such a sticky sealer on it last time it was apart. Good to see it's in nice shape behind the guard though. 'Just' needs putting back together now.
