  1. Thats very intersting, and worrying information... I was under the impression the GSL and Sigma crossmembers were identicle. Fucksake! This could definatly be interesting. Possible to modify the sigma bottom arms at all? weld up the old balljoint holes and drill new ones 10mm out? Sounds a bit dodgey however, lots and lots of load there.
  2. I swapped vented turbo sigma brakes into my EX. First i tried putting the sigma knuckles onto the lancer bottom arms, and bolting in the entire strut (with lancer top-hats swapped on ofcourse). It all looked sweet... But the vented rotors are alot wider and scraped on the bottom arms when it was all bolted together. Swapping to the sigma bottom arms solves this problem, as they use a bolt on ball-joint. Unfortunatly, they are marginally longer, so it'll affect track and camber. Lesson: Dont use the lancer bottom arms, use the sigma ones.
  3. Ive got a radiator from a turbo rwd eterna, but im not sure it'll fit?
  4. Sounds like a bloody good idea, how much did that set you back?
  5. What car did you source a radiator from? I'm doing much the same conversion, and I dont think my stock lancer radiator will be up to it. Would like to know where to look, cheers .
  6. I'd say thats a TC-05, looks a bit small to be a TC-06? What you really want is the TD-05H rear end, and the TC-06 front cover and wheel. Hmmmmm, tasty.
  7. Or i can drop em somewhere in the Christchurch/Rangiora area if thats easier? I've really got no idea how i would send them anywhere not in Christchurch tho :/.
  8. Fuck man, ive got enough wheels. If you can arrage someone to pick them up, they're yours... Im not keen to send them anywhere tho sorry.
  9. Wicked phat steelies yo. Just normal steel wheels, yup, i'd sell em. How much? Postage will bone ya.
  10. Check under the front windscreen for rust also, they have a habit of going there. Looks very tidy though, they'll run forever aslong as you throw some oil, a filter, and some water treatment at them every now and again .
  11. Maybe a cut down truck core? I would have thought the ratio of rows to fins would be off tho... same reason you wouldn't use an aircon rad as an intercooler. Interesting idea tho....
  12. Its a ford one, i cant find my verniers right now, but my scholastic ruler measurments put it at 72mm I.D, approx 3inch O.D (easy for piping). My concern with this TB is how will i control the cold start idle? There seems to be no provision for it.... The rims are factory r31 turbo rims apparently. DJ took them apart and painted them up, they look absolutley stunning now, and fit oh so well .
  13. Ive got a couple of starion pumps knocking around, should do the trick. Thanks heaps isnowi, those pictures are gold .
  14. I do plan on using mine every day, and i do like carting mates around, for some weird reason, heh. I'll be keeping the back seats, and having a mild sound system aswell. I hope to make it a super nice daily driver . Excellent, aluminium sheet i can get pretty easily, just pop-rivet something into place.
  15. What if alot of the cornering involves looking out the side window? . Anyone know the legalities of a surge tank setup in the boot? Last i heard it was fine aslong as it was sealed from the main cabin, i.e: not in a hatchback. I dont think fumes would be a problem, as its a sealed system?
  16. Thanks man, would be highly appreciated.
  17. Holy crap yes, photos would be very much appreciated. I was thinking very very similarly for my setup, just a small carby electric pump for a lift pump, I have a starion pump for the main feed. How would i connect the starion pump to the feed line? Arent they solid all the way into the gas-tank? Gah, i wish the car was here so i could go take a quick squiz....
  18. With the lift pump to surge tank setup, what lines do you use under the car for supply and return? just cut the originals, seal them on the tank side, and run rubber pipes to them from the surge tank?
  19. Ahhh, awesome to see some old mitsies getting built up .
  20. Chch is all good, Nelson was nice, loved the weather, but its good to be home . The EX is coming together awesomely so far, sorted sump and motor mounts this evening... clutch, ecu, exhaust manifold and turbo to go, heh! Sorted a disc brake rear end, and vented fronts for it also, so certification shouldnt be a problem.
  21. A friend of mine and i are transplanting a g63b from a 1985 Turbo Eterna into a 1980 GSL 5sp Lancer. I was expecting to have to dickey around with starion blocks or gearbox adaptor plates to get a RWD setup with the narrowblock g63b from the eterna... Imagine my surprise when the 5sp from the Lancer matched up directly to the g63b from the eterna... Means (for now) we can keep the existing cable clutch setup and whatnot, made things a whole lot easier to see it running! I've read of a few other people doing this swap, as these cars seem to be gaining populatity, thought this info might help someone else out Unless we have some freak Eterna with a random wideblock engine... Can anyone supply the measurments from right to left, top and bottom bolt holes for a narrow and wide block g63b? Theoretically, the engine out of a VR4 should have the same gearbox bolt spacing shouldn't it? Hmmmmmm, wonder how long this gearbox would last then.... heh.
