Probably my ultimate daily driver, nice work man. Crazy that you're mid-field with this, still feels like EVO IX were the fastest thing out there... must be getting old!
definitely more of a driver limitation than car limitation haha - I did have to drive the ~650km back to Toronto from western Michigan and didn't want to ruin the car haha. Being on all season tyres that started to feel super mushy once some heat got into them didn't help. I've since fixed that by getting a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's earlier this week:

Having said that, finding a Kenstyle certainly isn't any easier and when they do pop up for sale they are too big $$$. I paid more than I wanted to for my Kenstyle in NZ, but still significantly less than the going rate because it was missing the regular Lancer wing base to make it complete.
So enter in the Kenstyle replica, made in an initial small run of five units by a fellow Evo wagon owner in Sri Lanka who happens to have his own plastics manufacturing company. The replica is different in the sense that it combines the regular Lancer wagon spoiler into the Kenstyle mould, therefore negating the need to source a regular Lancer wagon spoiler, but also does away with the gap that is present between the regular spoiler and the Kenstyle wing that traps moisture and general muckyness:
So here it is unpacked in its primer glory and will go on when I have some time to get it painted.

big wang arrived all the way from Sri Lanka. Canada customs definitely had a big nosey at what it is.
So what is this 'Kenstyle' you may ask? It is a Japanese manufacturer of a rear spoiler that was originally destined for the Lancer Cedia in the early '00s, before the Evo Wagon was released:
Out of the other wings available, such as the Ralliart which is big $$$ and hard to find
and the Varis which has now been discontinued and even more harder to find
The Kenstyle is by far my favourite - though it does have a caveat (as does the Ralliart) in that it requires fitting a regular Lancer wagon spoiler because they attach to the regular model spoiler rather than the larger Evo wagon spoiler. I did end up finding a genuine Kenstyle in NZ but it did not include the base model Lancer spoiler (which I have since found thanks to @Bluebird_U). I still was faced with the more serious and expensive problem of getting a rather large wang from NZ to Canada. Unlike the Ralliart CF front lip I was able to get away with cutting right in the middle at its smallest and least noticeable point, I can not do the same to the spoilers.

I believe they list a lot of auctions on TradeMe too

damn - I have too many cars as it is and no need for this but still seems like a decent deal.

given they are two different families of engines, I am going to take a guess and say no.

Added LED lamps to the interior and put in some new floor mats to help tidy up a bit of the roughness:

Long time no post - I still have this, though I have put it up on the market to sell as I need to downsize and this was the easiest to put on the chopping block. I did end up fitting the spring, strut rods etc along with new outer UJ's as they were worn and weren't helping out with keeping the rear geometry in check. I then had an X pipe added to the exhaust and replaced the yunk down-turn tips with quad chrome tips. I also converted rear lamps to LED halos, converted reverse lamp into dual purpose reverse and orange turn signal and fitted a high stop lamp in the parcel shelf.
Some better pics I took of it over last few days:

Shame it isn't one that has the Recaro seats from the Evo like this one (though at more than twice the price)

the fact that the supposedly brand new turbo blew sounds like there is more serious trouble, maybe oiling issues?

how much was it insured for? that crinkled boot floor prob means it's not worth the hassle to repair
-
can you retract them further and then finesse them to retract fully even if eventually? if so, spray the mechanism with silicon spray and see if that assists

yeah it's crazy, my 80's car has been eligible for cheap reg now and it's only another 6-7 years and the VR-4 will be 40 too.

yeah he doubled up the factory intercoolers with the worst welding ever. claimed that black paint was the best on intercoolers because that's what Mitsubishi put on them from the factory... despite the likes of the models with actually good intercoolers (ie Evo, E39A Galant VR-4 etc) have unpainted intercoolers. he does have some good knowledge, just thinks he's the authority on everything and comes across as a prick.

That looks like an absolute nightmare to work on
oh my god I am dealing with that guy currently, he chimed in and gave his not asked for two cents when I asked how people were going with either Tein S.tech or Megan racing lowering springs in their GTOs and he said they should not be lowered and that the factory springs and shocks are just fine, especially on the track.

Sad face.
The TT literally leaves no room in the engine bay haha, so many pipes and clutter. Plus no way I would have been able to pick up a TT in this condition for what I paid for mine

some of the quick cars there was a Lexus GS-F that sounded amazing, the CT5 Blackwing (also on Michelin PS4S's) and some large overwight mild hybrid Merc/AMG thing that somehow was the second fastest vehicle all weekend
